A League Recap
Panthers claim A league State Title!!!!

Since the season opening the Panthers ambitions this season have been clear.  Get to Seahawk stadium and win.  They did just that.  Led by All-Americans Noelle Anderson and Jessica Verrilli, the Panthers were visibly fired up.  Lakeside was well aware of the thoughts in the minds of the Panthers, and they had thoughts of their own.  All-American honorable mention stand out Mallory Lobisser and co-captain Liz Morbeck had no intentions of backing down.  After all, Lakeside had beat the Panthers in their last meeting.
Lakeside set the tempo early, but the Panthers were able to fire up their running game that is so hard to control and were able to go into half time with an 8-4 lead.  Unwilling to give up, Lakeside came out only to dominate the second half by winning the ball and bringing it down to their end.  The Lions brought the score to within one, with a score of 8-7, but the settled defense of the Panthers was able to keep Lakeside from scoring enough.  The Panthers were able to get possesion towards the end of the second half and score once more and then get the ball again to run a stall while time ran out.  The final score was 9-7.  Key scoring for the Panthers came from Noelle Anderson with 3.  Chelsea Hanson and Bailey Lauren each had two.  Jessica Verrilli and Joanne Krochalis each had one.  For Lakeside Liz Morbeck was all over the field scrapping for possesion and was the teams high scorer with 3.  Sara Axelrod played a dominant role for the Lions game of Possesion in the second half and was able to score 2 goals getting help from Mallory Lobisser and Tylie Cramer with 1 goal each.  In goal for Lakeside, Keli Hopzafel was a huge factor in keeping the score close with 18 saves of 27.
At the final whistle the Panthers were able to finally celebrate what has been the most succesfull season in the teams history.  The Panthers are the 2003 A League State Champions.

B League Recap

Bellevue has claimed the girls B league State Championship for 2003!  With a final score of 13-5, the win was a convincing one.  Kitsap came out strong and were right in it at the start.  Caitlin Frasier was coming up huge in goal with some fantastic saves.  Megan Lockert had a big came scoring 3 of the teams five goals.  Krista Burleson and Amanda Divyak were the other scorers.  In the end Bellevue simply had too much fire power.  With the score 6-2 at the half, Bellevue simply pulled away in the second half.  Kaity Vowels was the top scorer for Bellevue with 3.  What made the team so dominant was the fact that they had help from all over the offense.  Pitching in to drive up the score was Brittany Deal, Emily Shubin, Chelsea Smith, Brittany Allen, and Katie Davidson.  Ashley Pinkerton also came up with one of the most beautiful assists of the day lobbing over the goal from behind to find Chelsea Smith waiting to put it away.  In the mid-field when Kitsap made a mistake Bellevue was there to capitalize on it and Kitsap simply couldn't answer the quick transitional plays.  Despite the dissapointing loss, Kitsap made huge strives this season and showed themselves to be worthy of a day at Seahawk stadium.  Bellevue Showed signs all season long that they were the ones to beat and ultimately, on Championship day, they were unbeatable.
