RECAPS
Lakeside finds
themselves on top of the standings after one week of play. With
two early season wins, the Lions are off to a strong start. In a
dominating performance the Panthers top a now .500 Bainbridge
Island squad. Mercer Island came out showing speed and fight but
were topped by a strong Overlake team. Holy Names struggled in
their only matchup of the season so far against Bainbridge.
Forest Ridge has yet to play it's first game.
HIGHLIGHTS
- Lakeside's one two
punch, Liz and Mallory. It's not just the combined assists and
goals that make this twosome tick. Draw Control and ground balls
could spell the difference in tight games and they came up with
plenty of those.
- Team play is what
had the Panthers running away with victory in their season
opener. Excellent draw control, superior ball movement, and
scoring threats deep into the roster is what set them apart. The
defense of the opposition never had a chance to settle.
- On seperate teams
but deserving their own category are the strong performances of
Lakeside goalie Kate Okrasinski and Panthers goalie Christine
O'Connel. Both goalies attended goalie camps and the skills they
picked up are paying off.

RECAP
In B league action
Kitsap finds themselves topping the league in the early season.
Greenwood comes out strong with a win and a tie. Bellevue shows
itself as a team to beat in their win over Mercer Island B.
Second year team Snohomish finds themselves behind early but are
an exciting new addition to the ever growing league.
HIGLIGHTS
- Mercer Island B
versus Snohomish makes the hightlight reel for sure. In an
incredibly close game, Craig Van Der Horn's squad won a hard
fought battle in the closing seconds after Snohomish was whistled
for shooting space.
- Kitsap's Bonnie
Cordoza and Krista Burleson each have seven goals in two games.
- Greenwood's Kathy
Osborne, Chelsea Wong, and Sarah Bryant each have six goals.
Osbourne has three assists thus far and Wong is right behind with
2.
