Recaps

Lakeside remains at the top of the heap as league action rolls on.  At 4-0 they are still the team to beat.  The Panthers win their second game and are the only other team in  the A League which remains undefeated.  Forest Ridge got their season under way with a tight loss to Lakeside followed by a very solid showing against Overlake.  Bainbridge Island won both its' matches this past week and continues to look strong.  Mercer Island and Holy Names are both looking for their first wins of the season.

Highlights

• In her first ever game in goal, freshman Jamie O'Brien had a very strong showing against a talented Lakeside team.  The Forest Ridge Goalie saved 13 of the 26 shots fired on her.  The game was very tight thanks to Jamie's unflinching presence in the net.
• After a tough first week loss to the Panthers, Bainbridge Island has re-taken control.  At 3-1 the team is in second place in the standings.  Jen Utley leads the team in both goals and assists.
• GROUND BALLS WIN!!!!  In it's first four wins Lakeside has dominated the ground balls.  And not just one or two players.  The whole team kicks in here to put up the numbers they've needed so far to win.

B League Results

Kitsap experiences its' first loss of the season but remains on top of the standings.  Greenwood ties Curtis for its' second draw of the season but tops the undefeated Kitsap squad.  Eastside has a strong showing against Snohomish and a close loss to  Mercer Island B.

Highlights

• Eastside's Jill Williams saved 14 of 15 shot attempts against Snohomish for a 93% save rate.  Helping her on attack were teammates Stephanie Sinclair and Lynsey Neal.  Together they combined for 9 of the teams 12 goals.
• In a tight game Greenwood came out the winner against Kitsap.  In a game that was decided by one goal, Greenwood spread the work load with a strong team effort to dominate the ground balls which can only lead to one thing: possession.
• Mercer Island B came out the winner against Eastside.  Eastside found themselves without their goalie for the first half and Mercer Island was able to capitalize.  Mercer Island now finds itself in a 3 way tie for third place.
