Varsity A Re-Caps

The big question after Mercer Island overtook Lakeside in the standings last week was what kind of challenge could they mount to Bainbridge Island in their game this week.  Bainbridge answered by distancing themselves quickly from the Up and coming Mercer Island squad.  While Bainbridge put on their usual incredible display mid-field pressure, they also did a fantstic job of spreading the scoring between 8 players.  With such a defensive presence and so many offensive threats it makes sense that Bainbridge is dominating the way they are.  They also get significant stops from goalie Dimitra Lotikis.  Scoring was led by Hannah Davis who had 3 as Bainbridge beat Mercer Island 15-4.

Mercer Island was able to win it's other match-up of the week against Seattle Prep by a score of 13-6.  Dani Zorn led scoring with 4 while goalie Kelli Nakata saved 12 of 18.

Seattle Prep won it's other match-up this week in a suprise win against Forest Ridge.  The Raiders had a hard time connecting as seattle Prep took advantage and went hard to goal any chance it could.  Forest Ridge had a great 2nd half rally but Seattle Prep was able to maintain possesion enough towards the end to come away with a hard fought win.  For now Forest Ridge holds on to it's 4th place spot.

Lakeside won 2 out of 2 this week.  Against both Greenwood and Overlake Garret Okrasinski was able to "git r done" by scoring a hat trick each time out.  Also with the hat trick against Greenwood was Lakeside's Elizabeth Guyman.  Lisa Baldini and Gracie Binder each had 2 while Emily Cramer had 1.  Overlake put up a strong challenge to the lions but the owls were unable to do enough in the end to beat a tough Lakeside squad.

Holy Names marked another x in the win column by beating Bellevue 12-2.  Isable Noe was once again in charge of scoring as she put in six to lead her team.  The cougars now sit in 7th place in A league standings.

B League Re-Caps

Snohomish had an emphatic win against Eastside Catholic.  Snohomish now sits in 6th place while Eastside Catholic is tied for 7th.

Kitsap won both it's match-ups this week beating both Seattle Prep and Curtis.  In both games Kitsap had an impressive 7 scorers showing a great sense of teamwork.  Krista Burleson led the scoring charge against Curtis with 5.  Curtis and Seattle Prep both won their 2nd games this week and are both tied for 3 spot.  For Curtis it was league newcomer Alexis Opp who had 4 goals and this time was flanked by teammate Heejung Choe who had 3 goals.

Bainbridge won both its game against Maple Valley and its game against Mercer Island and is sitting solidly in second spot in the B league as their is only 2 weeks left of regular season play.

Maple Valley won a tight game over the Raiders.  Kylie Cline led scoring for Maple Valley with 3 goals.  Anne Althauser and Rachel Westover scored 2 each while Sara Wiese and Amand Kostresh had 1 a piece.  A well fought victory by Maple Valley has them sitting in 7th place.
