Recaps
In the A league Bainbridge seems to be in the drivers seat as they enjoy spring break.  Are there any challengers lurking?  Lakeside didn't have an answer to Bainbridge, but does anyone else have an answer for Lakeside?  What is for sure is that the 3rd and 4th spots in the standings are wide open.

Mercer Island invited itself into the top 3 this week over taking Forest Ridge who now sits in 4th place.  The Islanders did it by beating Seattle Prep and Overlake.  Despite a five goal effort by Overlake's Anna De Regt, Mercer Island came out with the win due in no small effort to Dani Zorn and Kate Elstrom who scored 3 each.  In Mercer Island's 12-1 win over Seattle Prep the Islanders continued a pattern which they've kept up all year, spreading the offense.  Six different scorers got themselves on the boards, but what kept the score so low for the Panthers, aside from solid defense, was goalie Kelli Nakata.  Nakata saved an incredible 8 of 9 shots on goal to give her team an emphatic win.

Seattle Prep won a thriller over Overlake 13-12.  Overlake couldn't pull out the win despite the 4 goal effort of Hayley Droppert in addition to Anna De Regt's 6 goals.  The Owls were up by 3 with 3 minutes left but with 39 seconds left Seattle Prep was able to tie it and then take the lead for good with 4 seconds remaining on the clock.  The Owls found themselves in another thriller later in the week against Forest Ridge ending, ironically, in a 13-12 win for themselves this time.  It was the Anna De Regt and Leslie Walker show as the two centers traded scoring drives through out the tight, back and forth game.  The owls seemed unable to stop Walker from scoring at will, while on the other end the Raiders could do nothing to limit the scoring of De Regt.  De Regt scored 11 of the teams 13 goals with the last one coming for the win with 21 seconds left.  Despite a valliant 7 goal effort by Walker, and 3 from Moni! ca MqQuaid, the Raiders came up short, and Overlake came up big.  Both goalies were factors down the line.  Jamie O'Brien of Forest Ridge saved 14 of 27 shots while Overlake's goalie saved 10 of 22.

Forest Ridge found themselves cruising against a young Bellevue team earlier in the week.  Sophomore Lauren Borucki was not to be stopped as she found the back of the net 6 times.  Seniors Monica McQuaid, Kate Phillips, and Leslie Walker were dominant as well.  McQuaid has 5 goals and 3 assists, Phillips had 4 goals to her 4 assists, and Walker had a season high 8 assists  on the day.  The all senior line defense for the Raiders stepped it up big.  Brookly Lewis, Christine Jones, and Liz Voeller were quick to shut down scoring drives.  Freshman Courtney Yorozu scored her first ever highschool goal.

Holy Names added themselves into the win column with a big win against Bellevue.  Both teams have youth, but Holy Names simply came with more offensive weapons.  Isable Loe was the leader with 8 goals and 2 assists.  Rosy Rombauer scored 4 on the day, and Sally Norris and Caitlin Durgan each scored 1.

B League Recaps

Lake Sammamish is going a long way to try and establish itself a play off birth this year.  They are now sitting 4th in the B league standings after two wins this week.  Freshman Catherine Rodriguez is the go to player, but she clearly has help.  Against Maple Valley Rodriguez scored 5 of the teams 14, but had help in the name of Jessica Wang.  Wang not only scored 4 points but had 3 assists as well.  Also scoring for Lake Sammamish was Danielle Price with 2 and Emily Sandbo Cortney Wenneborg and Kyla Jameson each with 1.  Natalia Valderrama had an assist on the day.  Leading the ground ball charge for Lake Sammamish was Ashley Bergsma with 5.  While Maple Valley found themselves overmatched, they didn't go Silently. Amanda Kostresh was able to sneak in for 2 goals along with Kylie Cline and Kerris Morgan who each had 1.  Lake Sammamish also came out the winner in its match up against Eastside Cat! holic despite a strong 4 goal effort by Liz Kubaki.

Maple Valley had a very strong showing in an 11-11 tie against Mercer Island.  Kylie Cline again led the scoring with 4 goals.  Rachel Westover was right behind with 3 goals with Anne Althauser with 2 and Stevie Labare and Kerris Morgan with 1 each.

Seattle Prep won it's match up against Eastside Catholic 10-5.  Seattle Prep is in 3 place in the B league division behind unbeaten Kitsap and Bainbridge Island.

Speaking of unbeaten Kitsap and Bainbridge Island, look for the results of their first match up early this week.
