Team History:

The University of Washington Women’s Lacrosse Club was founded about twelve years ago by six University of Washington students. It was originally formed solely as a recreational team due to the limited number of members. In the next few years more people were drawn to the club and they became active competitors in the Pacific Northwest Lacrosse league. Past members have gone on to play with other teams in the league including RELAX and Seattle Women’s Lacrosse Club.

Today the team continues to compete with other Northwest teams and also participates annually in the Western States Tournament. They are also the hosts of an annual tournament that brings together teams from the Northwest states and Western Canada. This year’s tournament is the ninth of it’s kind with nine teams participating, over a two-day period.

The club is open to anyone who is a student or employee of the University of Washington. No experience is required and new players are always welcome. It is a great way to have fun and meet new people. Only dedication and a desire to be a team player are needed to participate and be successful.
