The 2001 Rules Interpretation Clinic
will be held Saturday, February 24th from 7:30 -
4 at The Overlake School. The Agenda is as follows:
- 7:30 - 8:00 Registration. Cost the day of the clinic is $25,
Preregistration is $15 (details on preregistration will be sent
the first week of February).
- 8:00 - 11:00 New Rules Interpretation and review of existing
rules
- 11:00 - 11:45 Break
- 11:45 - 1:15 Taking and correcting the tests, discussion of
answers
- 1:30 - 3:30 Field experience. There will be 20 minute time slots
for umpires to practice. First choice will be given to the
officials who have traveled the furthest distance. Other
opportunities will be available throughout the preseason.
The rule book are free and the manuals are $12. To officiate you
must join the US Lacrosse as an official. The fee is $50 and it covers
your insurance while you officiate. If you are already a member as a
coach or player there is an additional $15 for being a cross
participant.
Directions to Overlake: SR-520 East past Marymoor park. Go to the
end. Stay to the left and do not exit at the Rte. 202 sign. Go
straight through the light at the end of 520 and go through two more
lights. Just before the third light, bear right onto Novelty Hill
Road. Take your first left onto Redmond Way. Go about three-fourths of
a mile and the school sign will be on your right. Follow the school
road up to the top of the hill. Wind you way to the upper parking lot.
The rules interpretation will be in the library below the parking lot
and the field practice will be behind the gym above the parking lot. |
