2002 Men's Summer Lacrosse League - Outdoor

Congratulations to Team Green on their 4th consecutive summer league championship.  Team Green defeated Team Blue by a score of 11-7 Tuesday night in a well played tough final game.

Walax.com with STX have once again organized a summer league for HS, College and Club men 16 years of age and older. The league is currently full for the 2002 season. Sorry, there are no more spaces available. There is still room in the Summer Indoor League at Arena Sports

Details:

Summer League Rules:

  • The purpose of the STX Summer league is to provide a fun, safe level of play for our states high school juniors and seniors to play competitive lacrosse with college and club players to improve their game. Thus the referees that cover the games will not tolerate any excess contact. This league is about stick skills and game play not contact.

  • Every player who shows up for a game, must have equal play time at their particular positions. Captains are responsible for getting all in the game

  • To avoid excess contact, the summer league uses a 2 step rule, you are not allowed to take more than two strides at an other player before applying a body check.

  • Fighting is an automatic suspension from the summer league. This has never occurred in the 5 years of summer league play.

  • NO JUMPING TEAMS! The only players allowed to play for multiple teams are the goalies in the case where a team's regular goalie is not available, then a team may select a goalie from another team to play that particular game.

  • NO Picking up non-league players. Only the 150 players who have paid and signed liability forms are eligible to play. We intentionally put 25 players on a team, know that usually 7-8 players are not able to make a particular game. You can't pick up part time players!

  • Games are 20 minute running time quarters. Stopped time in the last 2 minutes of the game.

  • The STX Summer league uses the lap rules to enforce penalties. 1 minute penalties are served by the guilty player running a full lap around the field starting at the box. His team is man down till he returns from his lap run. About 1 minute. 30 Second penalties are served by running a half lap.

  • Please let your team captains know if you can not make a game.
