TRAVEL:

map of SFU
map of area around hotel that can be zoomed and printed.
map of Hwy 1, 176th st. that can be zoomed and printed.
map of area around truck crossing and Peace Arch Crossing that can be zoomed and printed.

-the best border crossing to use is the Douglas Truck Crossing in Cloverdale, the turn-off for which is just before the Peace Arch border crossing.

From Douglas Truck Crossing:
-
Exiting from the Border Crossing you will be on 176th St (Hwy 15).
-Follow 176th St. through Cloverdale (there is a bypass through the town...just stay on 176th) and continue through. It is about a half hour or so to reach the Hwy 1 interchange.
-At the Hwy 1 interchange, take the onramp and get on Hwy 1 Westbound to Vancouver (go over the overpass and turn right). Depending on the time of day you reach this point, there may be extremely heavy traffic once you near the Port Mann bridge and beyond. This is normal.
Please pay close attention to the road at this point, as traffic flow changes very drastically, very quickly at some parts of the freeway during heavy traffic.
-Once on Hwy 1 westbound, follow the Hwy over the Port Mann bridge to the Willingdon Avenue exit northbound (do NOT go under the over pass...take the first offramp to your right).
-Follow Willingdon to Lougheed Hwy (Hwy 7) and turn left.
-The hotel is just down the road, next to an Office Depot.

From Peace Arch Crossing:
-If you overshoot and end up going through Peace Arch, you have two choices:

(1) you can travel up Hwy 99 to 8th Ave, turn right and proceed east down 8th Ave to 176th St., at which point you can turn left and follow the directions above for the Douglas Truck Crossing.

(2) You can travel up Hwy 99 to take the right offramp to Hwy 99a west (King George Highway).
-travel King George to and across the Pattullo Bridge to 10 Ave.
-Turn right at 10th Ave and proceed to Cariboo Road.
-Turn left at Cariboo Road and proceed to Gaglardi Way.
-HERE, you can turn right up Gaglardi to Lougheed, left at Lougheed and proceed to the hotel
OR you can turn left to take onramp to Hwy 1, proceed to Willingdon Ave. and from there to the hotel.

From the Hotel to SFU:
-There are two routes. Since Lougheed can be extremely congested at times, you may wish to take the Hastings route instead.

via Lougheed Hwy
- Proceed from Hotel to Lougheed Hwy eastbound. Due to barriers on Lougheed, you can not make a left turn onto Lougheed except at intersections. Your best bet is probably the small intersection next to the Office Depot and across from the car dealership.
-Once on Lougheed eastbound, proceed to Gaglardi way.
-Turn left onto Gaglardi and follow Gaglardi to SFU. Do not turn off Gaglardi until it deadends at University Drive. You should be able to see Terry Fox field and the tennis courts to your left just before you reach this point.

via Hastings St.
-Proceed from Hotel to Buchanan street (north of hotel) and proceed east on Buchanan.
-At Willingdon, turn left, and proceed to Hastings St.
-Turn right at Hastings and follow signs indicating turnoff to SFU.
-Follow the turnoff to Gaglardi and turn left.
-Proceed until Gaglardi deadends, you will see the tennis courts and Terry Fox field just before this point.

AT SFU

SINCE Team Van parking is some distance from the field, you may wish to drop off players before proceeding to Lot C. This can be done at the drop off zones immediately before the underpass.

TEAM VAN PARKING is in Lot C, which is reached by staying on the right side of the road, turning right at University Drive past the underpass, and following the signs to Lot C.

Lot C parking is for Team vans. All other vehicles are to use pay parking (unfortunately), and the most convenient facility is the parkade next to the gym accessed by turning left at Gaglardi and University Drive (the deadend) and proceeding to a left turn into the parkade. This can also be used as a dropoff zone by cars but not by Team vans.
