Dear Northwest Lacrosse Players

It is my pleasure to introduce you to Haverford College and our lacrosse program.

Haverford ranked 5th this year in the U.S. News and World Report College Poll, and has consistently been in the top ten over the past years. We have a large full time faculty with an 9 to 1 student /professor ratio.Every class at Haverford is taught by a professor not student assistants. Also nearly 75% of the faculty live on campus. The 216 acre Main Line campus is just 20 minutes outside of Philadelphia and accessible by local mass transit. The statistics sound great don't they? Not to mention the reputation Haverford has in the job and graduate school market. But these are just a few reason to attend Haverford. The main reason is the people and the personal attention you will receive as a member of the Haverford Family.

This past year on the lacrosse field we took major steps towards our goal to compete for a National Championship. Our first win in Haverford history over perennial Division 3 power F&M helped us to a third place conference finish just behind Division 3 Quarter finalist Gettysburg and 1998 National Champion Washington College. We are also proud to say that for the first time a Haverford player (Brian Bean) was named as Player of the Year. Our 6-8 record was not indicative of our success. Our schedule was once again one of the toughest in the country as we faced 6 teams ranked in the top 20. We take our lacrosse very seriously and believe that with the addition of talented players form the Northwest we can make a big step towards our ultimate goal.
