6 NW Teams participated in a spectacular Lacrosse Tourney: Lakeridge (OR), Overlake Boys, Overlake Girls, Bainbridge Boys, Seattle Men's Lacrosse Club and the Portland Brewing Men's Club all made the trip. |
Results:
Bainbridge Boys -2-3 had a successful trip to the San Diego Lacrosse Festival over the March 20th weekend. Playing in the A division, the Spartans went 2-3 over the 2 days. In the first game they defeated Torry Pines, a local San Diego team. In the 2nd game they came up short against Pebble Beach, a club team from Northern California. The 3rd game saw them lose to eventual tournament runner up Bullis, a team from Maryland. On Sunday they went down to Bradlee, a team of local all-stars from Southern California and then beat a good team from La Costa, California. Despite the fact that they entire team was not able to make it and they were a bit undermanned, the trip was a great success. Playing against teams from around the country lets any local team see how they stand in comparison and is valuable.
Overlake Girls 2-3 - Finished 6th out of 20 teams. With all of their loses being one-point loses, they felt very good about the tournament. Brought down a mix of their JV and V and everyone played in all games and managed to pull out the results that they did. Great fun in the sun!
Overlake Boys 0-5 - "A young Overlake squad gained a great deal of experience playing some excellent teams. Went 0-5 on the weekend, getting blown out in 3 games, but sticking with an excellent Torrey Pines team and letting an easy win over St. Johns slip away. Watch out in coming seasons for this Overlake squad, now composed of almost all freshmen and sophomores."
Lakeridge High School of Lake Oswego, Oregon: 4-1!
Games:
Seattle Men's went 1-2, losing two close games by a total of 3 goals.
Porland Men's went 0-3 with a lean squad.
