Eugene wins the final tournament of the millennium!!! Eugene pulled out a 4-2 victory over the College Inn after being pounded by them the previous day. The 1999 tournament featured an 8 team format with a team traveling down from British Columbia, Canada to participate. The tournament had the pleasure of hosting a Squamish Indian team from Vancouver, Canada this year. The team was comprised of Canadian Indians from various box teams. They made a good showing going 3-0 on Saturday, but Eugene managed to trip them up in the Sunday semi-final taking an 11-5 victory. The final was a rematch of one of the last games played on Saturday where College Inn pounded Eugene 9-1. Eugene came into the match just wanting to make a good game of it, but with the combination of some great man down defense and capitalizing on the offensive end, Eugene managed to pull out a hard fought 4-2 victory for the championship. The venue and weather were fantastic, and everyone had a great time playing lacrosse in the afternoon and enjoying the festivities of the Eugene Celebration at night.
