Groovy Girls Lacrosse Skills
Camp had a fabulous second year. Enrollment tripled this year
reflecting the sports growth in the Northwest. Forty girls
grades 6th 9th gathered everyday for one week
in Northeast Seattle to learn the game of lacrosse, hone skills, work
with knowledgeable coaches, and enjoy the beautiful weather. The
girls abilities ranged from never having picked up a stick to having
played organized games for three seasons. The coaches included
high school State Champions (2003), varsity coaches, and ex-division
one college players. We were lucky enough to have a former
division one lacrosse goalie from Dartmouth College volunteer to spend
a morning working with the girls. The week was filled with skill
stations, scrimmages and lots of fun games. Parents and friends
enjoyed a final exhibition game on Friday. The competition was
high, and the girls had great new skills to show off. The camp will be
running next summer around the end of June. Hope to see many
returnees and new faces. If you would like more information
