Warrior Lacrosse Boys Scoop and Shoot State Competition

The US Lacrosse Washington Chapter and Warrior Lacrosse are proud to announce the 2002 boys HS Scoop and Shoot State Competition. Modeled after the football Punt Pass and Kick competition, the Scoop and Shoot competition tests Boys HS players on their ability to scoop and shoot against the clock.

The Competition: Each boys high school team will select a participant to represent their team on Saturday May 18th, during the half times of their respective divisional state championship games. The winner of each division will receive a great prize package of Warrior Lacrosse Gear.

The Rules:

  • Each participant starts individually at the midfield face-off line.

  • Once the whistle blows, the clock will start

  • The participant will run from the center of the field to positions 1 through 6 (see diagram below) scooping each ball and shooting at the goals. The participant can shoot the balls in any order they choose.

  • If the player misses the goal, 10 seconds are added to his time for each missed shot.

  • Once all 6 balls are shot, the player must run back to the centerline of the field and the clock will stop.

How to enter:

  • Each team will select a participant to represent their team at the state championship games at Mercer Island on May 18th. Ask your coach when your individual team's competition is. Coaches need to submit their team's participant name to Gail Shelton by May 15th.

Position of Balls:

  • A ball will be placed 10 feet on either side of the centerline of the restraining box; a ball will be placed at each corner of the restraining box, and the final 2 ball will be dropped 5 yards down the sideline of the restraining box.
