November 4,
2002: Two teams of
Crease Monkey's
entered the 2002 Hawaii
Invitational Tournament. The
Red squad featured many of the worlds best
players including John Grant Jr, Kevin Finneran and
Tom Ryan. The
CM White Squad featured many of the NW's finest
club players: Hugh Barber, Ian O'Hearn, Fred Wilmot,
Eric Timrick, Matt Cone, Steve Wisman, David Vannoy and Ben
Anderson. The Red squad lost a very close final to
Marin by 2, the White squad went 3-1 placing 6th of
13 teams, losing to Michelob Light who featured 15
MLL players. Highlight of the tourney may have been
Ian O'Hearn (Mercer Island Head Coach) covering
Casey Powell too close for Casey's appetite...Casey
was so upset over Ian's tight defense, that he
actually punched O'Hearn in the head....Ian simply
said "Thank you sir, may I have another" ;-)
This is by far the best lacrosse tournament on
earth. The weather is amazing, over 30 pro players
participated this year, and the off field atmosphere
is tremendous. For more information, check out the
tournament
website. Lots of pictures posted to
