Help Get Turf At Marymoor

Headline News
  Washington Lacrosse News

This is to notify you of a great opportunity King County Parks has right now for the replacement of the all-weather sand fields at Marymoor Park with four lighted sports-turf fields.

The King County Council is considering the request for $4.5 million for this project in the Parks Division's 2005 budget and will be taking public comment about it at its next two budget hearings. We need your support for the sports-turf fields and are asking you to attend one of these meetings to represent your league by testifying in favor of the project. If you would like to help, testify online at

http://apps01.metrokc.gov/www6/mkcc/cao2004testimony.cfm

The money for these fields was made available at the last minute, mostly from an under-estimation of real-estate excise funding. We at Marymoor quickly pulled together information for the proposal and submitted it as part of our regular budget for 2005. Construction could start as early as next year.
