East-West Lacrosse Game in Honor of O'hearn

Headline News
  Washington Lacrosse News

As many of you may know, Ian Ohearn will be getting married on August 5th. Ian has been an influential leader in the Lacrosse community since his arrival in Seattle. He is a Lacrosse maven running Mercer Islands Lacrosse program, contributing to the Boys High School board, playing for the Crease Monkeys, instructing camps and clinics, traveling to tournaments and of course- Breakaway Sports. What I have to say next really comes as no surprise to anyone who knows him. Different from most guys might want for their last act of bachelorhood, Ian wanted an East-West Lacrosse game.

Last Sunday, in the Mercer Island Stadium, East defeated West by a score of 8-6. Players from all over Seattle and California comprised the West Coast players, while the East Coast players were transplants here in Seattle. Lots of coaches and alumni helped make the day special for Ian.

Mark Larson officiated in what could be construed as home town officiating according to the East Coast team. While both sides ran short benches, good sportsmanship and camaraderie in the spirit of Ians Special Day transpired during the game.
After the game, a spirited attempt to zip tie Ian and drag him off did not go as planned.  Perhaps stronger zip ties or more guys.  We all wish Ian good luck and a lifetime of happiness in his biggest job yet!
