Metropolitan Boys Lacrosse
League Formed
FRANKLIN, GARFIELD, LAKESIDE, NATHAN HALE,
ROOSEVELT, PANTHERS
Dear
Principals, Athletic Directors, and Media,
2003 marks
the creation of the Metropolitan Boys Lacrosse
League*. This six team league operates within the
Washington High School Boys Lacrosse Association and
will compete in 21 intra league games.
Page two of
this document is a schedule of all MBLL games. It
is our hope that you will attend some of these
contests and enjoy the exciting and rapidly growing
game of lacrosse in the Seattle area. All
participating teams, though not affiliated with WIAA,
comply with all WIAA eligibility rules and will
compete for both the MBLL trophy and the state high
school championship at Seahawk Stadium on May 17th,
2003.
Lakeside has
been playing lacrosse since the inception of the
Association in 1973. Nathan Hale since 1993,
Franklin since 1998, Roosevelt and Panthers (club
team made up of Seattle Prep students) since 1999,
and Garfield since 2000. Several other Seattle area
teams are looking to form lacrosse teams in the 2004
and 2005 seasons.
Thank you,
Tony Olney
