US Lacrosse congratulates the Oregon High School Lacrosse
Association on its successful request for a lacrosse equipment grant package
valuing over $3,000. The granted equipment will help to start new boys and
girls lacrosse programs in the inner city and Metropolitan Portland area.
OHSLA commissioner and grant writer Jim Hammon looks forward to this
opportunity and to expanding lacrosse throughout the state of Oregon.
Youth lacrosse programs from South Carolina and Maine
rounded out this year's US Lacrosse grant recipients. The equipment packages
were provided through the generosity of manufacturing companies Bacharach
Rasin, Brine, deBeer Sports, Shamrock Lacrosse, Sport Helmets, STX and
Warrior Lacrosse.
US Lacrosse is committed to supporting the growth of
lacrosse across the United States. Following the successful 1998
International Lacrosse Federation World Championships hosted and coordinated
by US Lacrosse, an endowment was established to support an ongoing US
Lacrosse Youth Grant Program. The purpose of the fund is to award annual
grants of equipment to first-year girls and boys youth (ages 15 and under)
lacrosse programs with demonstrated financial need in developing lacrosse
areas throughout the country. For more information on the US Lacrosse Youth
Grant Program and other US Lacrosse programs, visit www.lacrosse.org or
