Parent/Player Meeting               ***  ATTENDANCE REQUIRED  ***

We will be meeting from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. on Saturday, December 22 at the King County Library System, in Issaquah on Newport Way, just behind Target.  The objectives of this meeting are to:

  1. Enlist parent participation, nominate the Parent Support Team, and elect a Parent Coordinator
  2. Ensure all players have paid dues and submitted Parent Authorization Form and Drug/Alcohol Forms
  3. Assign players with numbers for jerseys; discuss uniforms and equipment
  4. Announce practice schedules, game schedules and field information

 

Attendance at this meeting is required for all players.  It is also important that your parent(s) attend.  If you are unable to attend for a legitimate, please make sure you call Coach Levy in advance of this meeting.

 

Team Dues and Registration Forms

Dues and completed forms may be brought to the meeting, or may be mailed to Norm Levy, 16822 SE 56th Place, Bellevue, WA 98006.  Please make checks out to Issaquah Lacrosse Club.  DUES of $200 per player are due at this time, and need to be collected in order for uniforms to be ordered.  The uniform order will be placed on December 28, so dues must be paid this Saturday, and at the latest by December 27.

 

Middle School Playing Field

Fields at the high school are full.  Fortunately, the Issaquah Middle School field has been approved by the school district to be our field for practices and home games.  It is a great field, and because we are a local non-profit youth organization there is no cost to the team.  However, in order to secure this field for our use, the school has required that we do NOT park in the school lot, that we only use the field assigned to us, that we do not use the restrooms of the school, respect school property at all times and leave the field in clean condition.  There is parking at the Issaquah Community Center.  Please be aware that if these rules are violated, there is potential for the school district to cancel our field use.  For this reason, these rules are important and players who do not abide by them will not be allowed to continue on the team.  Please also respect the school�s property and leave the playing area clean.  

 

Lacrosse Organizations

Go to www.walax.com (then boys high school / Issaquah) for updated information about our league, teams, schedules, travel schedule, news, game results, articles, etc.  U.S. Lacrosse is also an interesting site www.uslacrosse.org and has great articles of interest.  Membership in U.S. Lacrosse is optional.

 

Insurance

Insurance will be provided by the team that will supplement your individual medical insurance if you have an injury.    This insurance is also required as general liability insurance for Issaquah School District.

 

Parent Support Team

Parents who have already signed up for the Parent Support Team include Jeff Hill, Mark and Caryn Matusiefsky, Mark Rossman, Burce and Bonnie Shively, and David Wyse.  THANK YOU!   Managing a successful team cannot be done without the dedicated support of parents.  There is so much to do, that even if your parent cannot make a commitment for the season, there are always special projects for which you parent could help out.   Please discuss this with your parents and have them contact Norm Levy if there is interest.  The Parent Support Team will be meeting toward the end of Saturday�s meeting.
