| League Rules
as of March 2005: |
- The league
plays under
International Lacrosse Federation Rules for all games.
- No
more than 4 long poles may be on the field at anyone time
- Players must
play in a set minimum number of half of all league games during the course of
the season to be eligible for the playoffs. Exceptions
will be made for injuries.
- 6
games for the A league
- 6
games for the B league
- Players are
allowed to jump teams within the league for the first month of the
season. No switching of teams will be allowed after April 7th.
All teams are required to post an up to date and final roster of
their team on their Web site by April 1st so each team in
the league knows for sure who is on what team.
- The 23 player rule in ILF rules
will not be followed in PNLA. A team may suite as many players
as they wish.
- For
league games, a team may only use eligible players to play the game.
If ineligible players are used, the game will be considered a
forfeit.
- Teams are
required to give a 1week notice to their opponents in event of a
cancellation and will take a forfeit for that game. In event
that the forfeiting team does not show or fails to make notice to
the opposing team at least 7 days before that game, they are
responsible for any costs associated with
lost fees to refs and field rentals.
- If a team
forfeits any games in the course of the season, regardless whether
notice was given, they are exempt from the league playoffs and will
be declared ineligible.
- If
a player is ejected from the game for fighting, the player is
ineligible for the next "League" game, i.e. game that counts towards
league standings. If a second occurrence happens during the same
season, the player is ineligible for the remainder of that season
including playoffs. Any
player who leaves the bench area towards a fight or similar
disturbance on the field will serve a one-game suspension as well.
-
Home teams are responsible for having at least one qualified ref in
attendance for the game. If refs are not available for the game,
both teams may agree on a 3rd party to act as referee and
the game will go on as a regular league game. It is highly suggested
that home team captains confirm with assigned refs that they will be
in attendance for the game.
-
Ties for league playoffs standings are broken based on the following
tie breakers in order: 1. Overall Record 2. Head to Head Record 3.
Point differential in head to head games. 4. Play a Playoff Game
