Panther Lacrosse History

The Boys Panther Lacrosse Club was formed in the 2001 season to provide an opportunity for boys from Seattle Prep and the Seattle metro area to play Varsity Boys HS lacrosse. The first team was comprised of 12 boys from Seattle Prep and 8 boys from Garfield HS. The first year of Panther Lacrosse was very exciting, after losing the first game of the season, the Panthers won 10 straight, won the Seattle City League Championship and made it to the State Championship game (Division 2) which they lost in a close battle with Port Angeles.

The second year of the program saw the Panthers roster explode to 30 players, all but one from Seattle Prep, the Garfield boys formed their own team for the 2002 season. In this second year, the Panthers went 13-2 and won the Division 2 Washington State Championship. In 2002, the Panthers fielded a JV team for the first time that went 7-3 on the season.

For the 2003 Season, the Panthers fielded two teams: Varsity A which competed in the Washington State Division One; and the Varsity B team which competed in the newly formed Cascade League vs other Varsity B teams.

For the 2004 season, the Panthers will field one Varsity team and one Junior Varsity team in Division I Sound Conference.

GREAT NEWS! Lacrosse was also accepted as a Varsity Sport at Seattle Prep and changed from the Panthers Lacrosse Club to its rightful title of Seattle Prep Lacrosse!
