The Overlake School

 Coaches:

  • Henry Valentine     3rd year
  • Walter Valenzuela  3rd year
  • Matt Buffaloe         5th year (3rd with Varsity)

Team Bio:

The Overlake School is the smallest School in the League.  It is a private high school of 250 students dedicated to the development of the whole student.  To that end the school has an appropriate dedication to fielding teams of excellence in all sports.  Lacrosse is no exception.  After a few years of rebuilding its program the Owls are back.  Thanks to the coaching of its Middle School program the Owls have a feeder program that will keep its lacrosse efforts at a level to match many of its larger opponents.

This year the Owls have a good mix of experienced players and newly incoming freshmen. Overlake will be losing 5 of last years seniors all key contributors including, co-captain and all state mid-fielder Kirk Thorsen.  Overlake is excited to have 4 returning seniors and 6 returning juniors, including at attack All-State co-captain Charlie Kenyon. The Owls will be leaning heavily on him not just for his offensive prowess (he was fifth in points in the state last season with 34 goals and 18 assists) but for his leadership on and off the field. At mid-field returning co-captain Ben Buchwalter will be complemented by an enthusiastic and energized group of mid-fielders.  Overlake has high expectations for our returning core defensemen. Overlake is extremely excited about our large incoming freshmen class as it is the largest class weve seen for some time which is proof that our middle school program is getting the job done!
