2003 Preview:

As Garfield Lacrosse moves into its second year, we look back at our inaugural season:  We were a brand new team, no field, no jerseys, no money but loads of energy and 38 players signed up and ready to go.  Three terrific girls came out for the team, 8 players with some experience, talented coaches Chris Honeycutt (head coach), Kristian Erickson, and Ryan Kelly.  Our players came from at least 5 different schools with most of them coming from Garfield High School.  What a season 2002 was.

As we prepare for the 2003 season, Chris Honeycutt will continue as head coach, and Kristian and Ryan will continue as very valuable assistant coaches.  We plan to have two teams this season: a JV team and a Varsity team (hopefully in the B League).  We are hoping to be assigned only one field for the season that we can practice and play on (unlike the four fields we shifted around on last year).

We are pumped for the new season.  Some members of the team plan to gather soon to do some early fundraising, find new players, and generally build team support for the upcoming season.  There is no lack of energy at Garfield for the Lacrosse Team.  2003 promises to be a GREAT year for us.  If you are interested in Garfield Lacrosse please contact us.
