NOTES & REVIEW
Division I
*Maple
Valley knocked off Nathan Hale and had a chance to
sneak into the playoffs. Bainbridge ended the
Vandals run though with an 11-4 victory as the
Spartans wrapped up the regular season undefeated.
*The
Panthers pulled out a huge win over Lakeside and
clinched the #3 seed. Despite the loss, the Lions
rebounded with a win over Port Angeles to secure a
playoff birth. Now, Lakeside must travel to
Bainbridge, while the Panthers get another shot at
Mercer Island.

Division II
*The
Kitsap Wolves clinched a playoff birth with two big
victories in the final week. Congrats to Coach
Zelazek and the Wolves!
*Vashon
clinched a home-field quarterfinal game with two
wins to finish 8-2. The 8 wins is an amazing
turnaround for a group that finished with only 1 win
a year ago.
*Garfield
enacted a bit of revenge with a 3-1 win over
conference rival Roughriders. Both teams finished
at 8-2. However, the Roughriders win the Metro
Conference with a better conference record after
defeating Mt. Rainier 8-3.
NOTE: For statistical
purposes, Division II standings have all teams
listed together through sportability.com. Realize
that Division II is in fact split into 3 conferences
and playoffs will be determined based on standings
within these conferences.
NOTE: Cross-Conference
combined records are used in tie-break scenarios to
determine Strength of Conference.

TOP PERFORMERS
Shane ONeil-Freshman,
Attack/Mid, Panthers
A game of threes from the
young ONeil and the Panthers have them flying high
as they roll into the playoffs. Shane scored 3
goals, his 3rd hat-trick of the season,
in helping the Panthers clinch 3rd place
with a 7-6 victory over Lakeside. In only their 3rd
season, the Panthers continue to experience success
and are reaching for their 3rd trip to a state
championship game after a Division II title in 2002,
and a runner up title in 2001.
Rob Novorolsky-Senior,
Attack/Defense, S. Kitsap
Talk about stepping up in
crunch time! The Wolves had to have two wins to
finish the season and earn a birth in the Division
II playoffs. Novorolsky stepped up big with 6
goals, 1 assist in a 13-9 victory over Franklin. He
followed with a 4 goal, 2 assist performance in
helping defeat Klahowya. Novorolsky finished the
year with 31 goals, 12 assists and was named
Honorable Mention, All-State Division II, Attack.
Even more impressive when you consider he split time
at defense this year.
Jeff Lam-Junior,
Mercer Island B
Lam picked an incredibly good
time for his first career hat-trick. He scored 3
goals to lead the Islanders in big 7-5 win over
Maple Valley. The victory clinched the #1 seed in
the playoffs for the Islanders.
