Date Score Recap: Scoring
6/5 League Championships
5/23 Tentawon 7 - Wy'East 6 Tentawon Recap: We had a couple of extra players show up for our Sunday roadtrip game and they proved to be critical since most of our squad "enjoyed" the festivities of downtown Portland just a little too much on Saturday.  Mulkey had a fantastic game and stuffed at least 4 point-blank one-on-one shots from the WyEast offense.  WyEast played a tough game and pulled ahead by 2 goals midway through the 4th quarter.  We fired back with 3 goals of our own in the last ten minutes and then the defense shutdown WyEast's remaining efforts to give us the win.  This was a great way to end our regular season as we've won 4 of our last 5 games.  We are psyched to be in the final four tourney in 2 weeks and will be coming to play! Tentawon: Fimmano 2, Miller 2, Jensen 1, Williams 1, Brick 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,
5/23 Tentawon 7 - Wy'East 6 Tentawon Recap: We had a couple of extra players show up for our Sunday roadtrip game and they proved to be critical since most of our squad "enjoyed" the festivities of downtown Portland just a little too much on Saturday. Tentawon: Fimmano 2, Miller 2, Jensen 1, Williams 1, Brick 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,
5/23 College Inn 11 - Old Seattle 3 - College Inn: Mariani 3, Johnston 2, Anderson 2, Daniels 1, Travers 1, Chao 1, Crane 1,  ,  ,
5/22 Redhook 11 - Seattle 6 Redhook Recap: The mighty Redhook finished the '99 crusade with a convincing win over the Seattle Lacrosse Club. Redhook scored the first goal, led 8-1 at half and except for a temporary lapse in the 4th, dominated the entire game. Tim Morris played outstading in net for Redhook, Maestro picked up his average with 4 sweet goals and the defense was swarming. Unfortunately, with Rainier forfeiting their last two games to Victoria, the Redhook club has been bumped from the playoffs by Victoria...all-in-all a very solid year for the 'hook. Watch out for us in '00! Redhook: Sauri 2, Younge 2, Maestretti 4, Hurt 3,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,
5/22 Tentawon 10 - Eugene 2 Tentawon Recap: A beautiful day in a beautiful town and a great day for lacrosse!  We traveled light but we seem to play better when we're shorthanded.  Greg Fimmano had a stellar day with 4 goals while rookie attackman Matt Fersch got his first hat-trick for Tentawon.  Eugene played very well but just kept missing point-blank quick-stick shots on the goal.  We only had 4 longsticks and one of those was nursing a hamstring injury but they kept us in it the whole way.  We look forward to seeing these guys again at the Eugene Tourney in September. Eugene Recap: Great day to play, unfortunately not a great game for Eugene.  Tentawon came down short a goalie stick, and used the loaner we gave them to the fullest.  Eugene had plenty of opportunities in the first half, but either missed the cage, or hit Mulky-although Mulky played a great game.  Tentawon controlled the draws and that ended up hurting Eugene's offensive chances in the second half.  It was a good game for both clubs.  We look forward to seeing all the B division clubs in September. Tentawon: Fimmano 4, Fersch 3, Miller 1, Merton 1, Brick 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,  Eugene: foster 1, bloom 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,
5/22 College Inn 8 - Steelhead 4 - College Inn: Mariani 3, Johnston 3, Holmes 1, Crane 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,
5/22 Huron 18 - Wy'East 6 Huron Recap: Finally a beautiful day for lacrosse.  Wy'East and Huron played a good hard fought game that resulted in Huron's highest goal output for the year.  Huron held a 10-1 half-time lead before Wy'East started clicking a bit better and kept us in check with a 8-5 second half game. We will need to sustain this offensive production if we are to have any hope in the playoffs.  Our Defense and goalie played another stellar game for us as they have done all year.  Thanks Wy'East for the cold keg at the post=game festivities. Huron: Mackey 5, Alexander 4, McGuire 3, Hanjal 2, Upchurch 1, Koransky 1, Woodson  1, Pizorski 1,  ,
5/16 Seattle 5 - Blue Collar 2 Seattle Recap: Despite the low score, this was yet another good game between us.  Collar came out strong looking to win, but stellar goal-tending by Hugh Barber kept Seattle in the game.  The game was tied at half-time with a 2-2 score.  In the third quarter Seattle stepped up the defense and in the fourth turned up the offense.  Seattle stepped into 2nd place as we closed the game out with another victory against the mighty BC... Seattle: Low 1, Barr 1, Schafer 1, Rezoski 1, Norwood 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,
5/16 Redhook 11 - Victoria 7 Redhook Recap: Redhook finally got back in the win column with a victory of Victoria. Have to admit it was nice batting cleanup playing Victoria in their 4th game of the weekend. Redhook moved ball well, scored when we were suppose to, and avoided getting into any altercations with the fiesty cannucks. Duke played solid in cage for the 'hook coming out of retirement. Ryan Hurt had another quite hat trick. Redhook: Hurt 3, Jackson 2, Maestretti 2, Schare 1, Sauri 2, Vannoy 2,  ,  ,  ,
5/16 Portland 15 - Victoria 4 - Portland: Haendler 4, Haynes 1, Niemi 2, Trinchero 1, Guy 1, Galloway 2, Lardy 1, Demers 1, Wayland 1, Heath 1 Victoria: Bell 1, J Tasko 2, N tasko 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,
5/15 College Inn 12 - Huron 3 College Inn Recap:
5/15 Portland 9 - Victoria 4 - Portland: Haynes 5, Trinchero 1, Galloway 3,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  Victoria: Christiaens 1, J Tasko 2, N Tasko 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,
5/15 Tentawon 7 - Adecco 2 Tentawon Recap: This was another hard fought battle that was critical to keeping both teams in the playoff running.  Despite some questionable calls from the ref that almost cost us the game we fought hard for 4 quarters and came out on top.  We have been improving each week and look forward to a couple of tough games against Eugene and WyEast next weekend. Tentawon: Miller 2, Henneberry 1, Fersch 1, Jensen 1, Williams 1, Fimmano 1,  ,  ,  ,  Adecco: New 1, Noble, M 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,
5/15 Eugene 15 - Steelhead 4 Eugene Recap: Eugene once again had three midfield line and managed to take advantage of their numbers as Steelhead was missing some of their key players as they traveled south to play.  Eugene came out fast and moved the ball well on offense.  Steelhead won most of the draws, but Eugene had good play from the defense and outstanding play once again from their keeper, Eric Haines.  The Wiz played a great game in the cage for Steelhead making at least half a dozen one on one stops.  In the end it was too many legs as Eugene kept up the pressure on both the offensive and defensive sides of the field.  Post game activities got everyone on the Steelhead team well prepared for the coast camping trip.  Steelhead Recap: The 'head weren't so mighty on this day.  We traveled lightly leaving 5 starters at home including our goalie and back-up goalie and Eugene embarrassed us for it.  We could do nothing right and they did everything right.  Our defense, which has been the stabilizing force all season long was made to look like rookies, missing slides and letting their men get open looks at the goal.  On the offensive end we couldn't find the cage and the few times that we did the Eugene goalie ate them up.  Its gut check time for the Steelhead, at a time in the season when we should be "peaking" we seem to be sinking.  The only bright spot we had was some stellar play by Steve Wisman who inherited the goalie stick. Eugene: Dahl 5, Graff 4, Clemons 3, Bloom 2, Strening 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,  Steelhead: Brekke 2, Graves 1, Goodman 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,
5/15 Huron 3 - College Inn 11 Huron Recap: Huron had a less than stellar performance and received a less than stellar result. When you play College Inn you have to bring your best game, we brought one of our worst and were handed our lunches.  College Inn is strong with or without Benson.  Good job CIP.  "Thank you Sir, may I have another" in the playoffs. Huron: Mackey 2, Hajnal 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  College Inn: Hutchins 2, Johnston 2, Mariani 2, Murphy 2, Anderson 1, Daniels 1, Lavin 1, Milesi 1,  ,
5/14 Seattle 12 - Victoria 9 Seattle Recap: Seattle's attack came on strong in a 12-9 victory over Victoria.  It was a good, close game - but Victoria ran out of energy due to the lack of numbers. Seattle: Low 4, Fitz 4, Ostrander 2, Rezoski 1, Norwood 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,  Victoria: Tim Dennett 1, Bissenden 1, Christiaens 2, J Tasko 1, N Tasko 2, Marshall 1, Pollock 1,  ,  ,
5/9 Seattle 14 - Victoria 8 - Seattle: Barr!!! 4, Norwood 3, Simmons 3, Everett 2, Bissell 1, Tim Fitz 1,  ,  ,  ,  Victoria: Tim Dennett 1, Pollock 1, Christiaens 1, Page 2, Jamie Tasko 3,  ,  ,  ,  ,
5/9 Redhook 5 - Portland 11 Redhook Recap: This was a very close game during the first half....13 tired pairs of legs couldn't hang in the second. Nice effort however... Redhook: Caponi 1, Younge 1, Jackson 1, Harvey 1, Van Noy 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,  Portland: Guy 4, Trinchero 1, Lardy 1, Hering 1, Galloway 1, Heath 1, Haynes 3,  ,  ,
5/8 Steelhead 6 - Old Seattle 8 Steelhead Recap: We started the game with the thought of having fun.  That didnt work.  We were out shot probably 15 to 1.  Another incredable game by our goalie Gary Gibb.   I believe we were down 4 to 0 at the half.  We started to play in the third quarter.  We hit hard,  hustled and started scoring. We were then served whine by our hosts. That was fine but the mood of the game changed.  Tempers started flareing on both teams and several fights almost broke out.  Aparently the old timers had forgoten that lacrosse is a contact sport. Not to say that we were completly inocent.   In the forth quarter the score was 6  to 8 with two minutes left.  We could not score that time.  Old seattle is a good bunch of guys and we are glad to have had the oportunity to play against them.  We are looking forward to next time. Steelhead: wisman 2, beckman 1, johnson 1, lendt 1, massiglia 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,
5/8 Blue Collar 14 - Rainier 6 - Blue Collar: Barr 2, Foster, Ar 2, Snorsky, P 2, Contreras 2, Martens 2, Haley 1, Martin 1, Benazzi 1, Ohara 1,
5/8 Seattle 11 - Victoria 18 - Seattle: Schafer 2, Larratt 2, Everett 2, Tim Fitz 2, Norwood 1, Bach 1, Bland 1,  ,  ,  Victoria: Bell 2, Tim Dennett 4, Pollock 6, Christiaens 4, J Tasko 3, Terry Dennett 1,  ,  ,  ,
5/8 Redhook 6 - Portland 10 Redhook Recap: We were up 5-3 at halftime - tied at the end of the 3rd...lost a close one with only 13 guys! Redhook: Van Noy 3, Schare 1, Caponi 1, Younge 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  Portland: Maguire 1, Haynes 1, Heath 1, Galloway 1, Haendler 3, Augspurger 1, Niemi 1,  ,  ,
5/8 Tentawon 2 - College Inn 14 Tentawon Recap: Believe it or not this game was close until the 4th quarter.  The Pub was leading 6-2 going into the fourth but we felt in the game the whole way as our defense was having a great game and we were getting some excellent ball movement on the offense.  The wheels fell off in the 4th, like they have in so many of our games this season.  If we can find a way to finish strong we'll give our remaining opponents some tough games.  Hats off to Tom Benson, a fine player and gentleman who will be missed. Tentawon: Henneberry 1, Thomas 1 College Inn: Johnston 3, Anderson 3, Mariani 2, Benson 1, Milesi 1, Miller 1, Moulton 1, Murphy 1, Walsh 1,
5/2 Seattle 11 - Rainier 6 - Seattle: Bland 4, Fitz 2, Ostrander 2, Simmons 1, Bissell 1, Norwood 1,  ,  ,  ,
5/2 Wy'East 6 - Portland 18 Wy'East Recap: Wy'East played a short but talented Portland squad after Eugene softened them up. Playing with many players out of position, Portland still romped over Wy'East. Not much to say, as this game counted for nothing in the standings and many players on both sides neglected to show up.  Afterwards we had some Widmer and thanked the heavens that there were no major injuries.  Soo Hoo apologizes to the #26 Portland player for the slash to the nutz, I was just going for the butt end of your stick.  Of all the times to not wear a cup...whoops. Wy'East: Jenkins 2, Soo Hoo 1, Cleveland 1, Stearns 2,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,
5/2 Huron 16 - Adecco 1 Huron Recap: Addecco was the unfornate recipient of the fall out of our game the day before.  Huron brought its game on Sunday and with Addecco traveling light and playing a tight game the day before, Huron picked up its first route.  Great team effort for Huron.  Game got a little chippy at the end, but was a good game throughout.  We hope to maintain this level the rest of the season.  Eleven different player scored for Huron!! Huron: Mackey 3, Bennett 2, Koransky 2, Upchurch 2, Erickson 1, Skuttum 1, Hajnal 1, Woodson  1, Olson 1, Pizorski 1, Ryan 1 Adecco: Emmons 1
5/1 Wy'East 2 - Eugene 12 Wy'East Recap: Wy'East stumbled down the I-5 corridor into Eugene missing a few pieces. After a PNLA Tourney battle the week previous with Eugene to get into the "B Division" Final, which Wy'East won 6-3, Eugene fought hard to win back the "Willamette Cup".  In the second year of the "Willamette Cup" series, the trophy stayed in Eugene.  What happened to the team that went so far in the PNLA a week before?  An evil mojo put on by some granola Eugene crystal-selling deadhead witch doctor?  That's what we thought.  Nothing went right for the Jeckyl and Hyde boys from Wy'East. The ground caused funny bounces, no-one could shoot at the net, and Eugene was golden.  Their passes were crisp, their shots went in, and the defense was stout. Playoffs?  More like playoofs for Wy'East this year. Wy'East: Conlon 1, Jenkins 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,
5/1 College Inn 7 - Seattle 11 - College Inn: Johnston 2, Benson 1, Mariani 1, Travers 1, Chao 1, Brown 1,  ,  ,  ,
5/1 Steelhead 10 - Adecco 6 Steelhead Recap: Adecco traveled strong, but from what I understand their Friday night in Seattle was even stronger.  The game was tight for the first half but the Steelhead middies got some quick goals and then the defense took control of the game as they have all year.  Steelhead: Esser 4, Graves 2, Brekke 1, Massiglia 1, Shuck 1, Goodman 1 Adecco: New 3, Jenks 2, Long 1
5/1 Eugene 12 - Wy'East 2 Eugene Recap: Well Eugene finally played the type of game we thought we could.  With the coveted Willamette Cup on the line we finally found the right motivation.  Having the luxury of three midfield lines the middies came out and ran hard all day.  Good defense by the long sticks and the middies managed to keep the Wy'East offense in check, and the middies did a good job of getting the ball into the hands of the attack- all but two goals came from the attack.  The cup will rest in the southern Willamette valley until next year when the battle for the cup will resume. Eugene: Dahl 5, Strening 4, Bloom 2, Wilton 1
5/1 Redhook 9 - Blue Collar 10 Redhook Recap: Another close winable loss for the Mighty Redhook... Redhook: Hurt 3, Younge 2, Sauri 2, Maestretti 1  Blue Collar: Foster, Aaron 3, O'hara 4, Gilbert 1, Contreras 2, Roberts 1
5/1 Tentawon 5 - Huron 4 Tentawon Recap: Tentawon tried something different today...we came out with a relaxed attitude and were focused on just enjoying the great game of lacrosse.  We jumped to a quick 3-1 lead and led 4-1 at the half.  We were short on attack so we dropped John Cassidy and Kyle Williams down low and they had a awesome game.  Cassidy came away with 2 goals while Rick Jensen got 2 and a slop goal when one of Huron's defensemen put one past their own goalie.  We entered the 4th quarter with a 5-2 lead but as we had seen in many of our earlier games this year, never count your opponent out.  Huron made a valiant attempt to tie it up but fell just short to give us a 5-4 victory.  Hats off to Gooch Alba who played another fantastic game despite being deathly ill with the flu.  We highly recommend Huron's sponsor, Harmon's Pub, to all the other teams for post-game festivities. Huron Recap: Tentawon, short on player for the first time in a long time, played a spirited game and were the benficiaries of an own goal by Huron which proved to be the difference.  Huron played without any intensity on the offensive half until the last 6 minutes.  By then it was too little too late.  Huron defense and goalie played a stellar second half only allowing one goal.  The offense let the team down. Tentawon: Jensen 3, Cassidy 2,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  Huron: Mackey 2, Alexander 1, Koransky 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,
4/18 Portland 8 - Rainier 4 - Portland: Shea 4, Heath 2, Cabot 1, Niemi 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,
4/18 Wy'East 14 - Adecco 3 Wy'East Recap: Well, the Jeckle and Hyde season continues for Wy'east. This week, the team we had hoped would show up week in and week out was on. Clicking on all cylinders the  offense moved the ball unlike anytime this year and as a result got a lot of guys involved in the scoring. Hats off to Dan Jenkins who had a huge game with 6 goals and to Todd Templeton who had the first multi goal game of his career. Chip Arnold moved down from middie to crease attack and stepped up with a couple goals of his own. On the other end, the long sticks played aggressivly, controlled loose balls and moved well in limiting  Adecco's scoring chances. Adecco Recap: Ooops!!! Wy'East: Jenkins 6, Arnold 2, Cleveland 2, Templeton 2, Rudick 1, Conlon 1,  ,  ,  ,  Adecco: Noble, J 2, Bartow 1, McCarthy 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,
4/18 Blue Collar 9 - Seattle 10 Blue Collar Recap: Once again the Collar was down by 5 at half with a weak start.  BC came back in the third to tie the score at 7-7 but were unable to take the lead away from Seattle. Seattle Recap: Seattle was still missing a few guys, but came out on fire and had a 7 - 2 lead at halftime.  Collar rallied back in the third, while the Seattle guys took a nap on the sideline.  The fourth quarter was a battle, but Seattle stayed on top and took the win to close out a victorious weekend. Blue Collar: Benazzi 3, Foster, Aaron 1, Roberts 2, Bissell 2, Snorsky, P 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,  Seattle: Kelly Bland 4, Dave Rezoski 2, Tim Fitz 2, Randy Woo 1, Erik Norwood 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,
4/18 Huron 7 - Steelhead 11 Huron Recap: After playing the first ten minutes with a goalie that only had a middie stick, our back-up was late, Huron had played tough enough defense to have a 1-1 tie.  Once the goalie and his stick showed up we let down on defense and gave up easy goals.  Huron was never able to recover from the 3 goal halftime deficit.  Stealhead wanted this game more than us.  Hats off to them.  See you at PNLA. Steelhead Recap: This was an extremely physical battle between the once beatens.  The Steelhead didn't travel very well but we played more as a team then we have all year.  This big win (11-7) closed out an importantweekend for the Steelhead. We are looking forward to PNLA and the second half of the season. See y'all next weekend. Huron: Mackey 2, Pizorski 2, Alexander 1, Hajnal 1, Koransky 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,  Steelhead: Wisman 4, Brekke 3, Shanahan 2, Lendt 2,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,
4/17 Seattle 9 - Rainier 6 Seattle Recap: Seattle was missing a few guys but managed to take the win on a fine Saturday morning. Seattle: Kelly Bland 4, Wil Ostrander 2, Tim Fitz 2, Marc Bissell 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,
4/17 Blue Collar 5 - Portland 7 Blue Collar Recap: The Collar came out with a lackluster first half and found themselves down 5-0.  A good third quarter brought the score back to 5-4 but it was too little too late as Portland put 2 quick goals in the net in the 4th quarter to secure the victory.  Blue Collar: Benazzi 2, Foster, Aaron 1, Droppelman, S 1, Droppelman, J 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  Portland: Haynes,J 3, Haynes,K 3, Heath 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,
4/17 Chiefs 9 - Wy'East 5 Chiefs Recap: The Chiefs and Wy'East had a great time on Saturday.  The warm sun helped keep the old guys from pulling too many muscles. Jim Morford looked great taking the face-offs for the Chiefs. Goalie Brent Farnsworth was in great from. The game looked like something from the early '80's with TimGoodspeed feeding the cutting middies. Long stick john gates was a ground ball machine.  Mark Flood finished well with 5 goals.  The Chiefs hope to stay healthy while playing 3 games on Saturday then facing a rested Seattle old-timer squad on Sunday. Wy' East seemed to embrace the spirit of the Chiefs by playing a clean fun game. Wy'East Recap: The Chiefs came out of hibernation for our annual PNLA tune up and looked like they hadn't missed a step even without their walkers. It was a picture perfect day and a well played game. They may complain about how they've lost a step here and there but they can still move the ball. Good luck in the tourny guys and thanks for the game. Chiefs: Vetter 1, Morford 1, Nesbitt 1, Klose 1, Flood 5,  ,  ,  ,  ,  Wy'East: Arnold 1, Cleveland 1, Badon 1, Rudick 1, Jenkins 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,
4/17 Eugene 6 - Adecco 10 Eugene Recap: Eugene traveled with 16, (minus our starting keeper), to play Adecco.  Ground was hard and uneven which was a new factor for this season.  Typical game between the two clubs-hard fought and phycical.  Adecco had the lead throughout the whole game, although Eugene managed to get it to 7-5 in the third quarter.  The only thing to add is:  Keystone Light?  I propose a new league rule that states only microbrews served as the post game beverage-this is the Northwest!!! Eugene: clemons 2, Sheperd 3, Wilton 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  Adecco: Noble, J 4, Long 2, McCarthy 2, Jenks 1, Marmillion 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,
4/17 Redhook 12 - College Inn 6 Redhook Recap: Very close first half...tied at the half 4-4...College Inn moved the ball very well...The Redhook ride was very effective and in the second half we got moving with 7 4th quarter goals. Nice game fellas... Redhook: Cone 3, Caponi 3, Sauri 2, Mastretti 1, Antilla 1, Jackson 1, Younge 1,  ,  ,  College Inn: Mariani 4, Johnston 1, Holmes 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,
4/17 Tentawon 6 - Steelhead 8 Tentawon Recap: Another tough loss for Tentawon but at least we had a beautiful, sunny day.  Steelhead has acquired some firepower from the Western Washington ranks but our tough defense kept us in the game.  We hope to see these guys again in the semi-finals!  Steelhead Recap: Another close hard fought game by both teams.  Every time the Steelhead tried to pull away Tentawon came roaring back.  Tentawon: Fimmano 2, Henneberry 2, Wojcicki 1, Cassidy 1,  ,  ,  ,  ,  ,  Steelhead: Massiglia 1, Esser 2, Wisman 1, Lendt 2, Graves 1, Beckman 1,  ,  ,  ,
4/11 Seattle 12 - Portland 14 Seattle Recap: Seattle got off to a great start, going up 5-0 in the first quarter, but didn't have enough players to hold on to the lead.  Game was tied at 11 with three minutes left when a questionable slash call created two quick goals for Portland.  Seattle couldn't recover. Seattle: Chris Fitz 3, Woo 3, Tim Fitz 2, Bissell 2, Simmons 1, ??? 1,     Portland: Haynes 1, Maguire 3, Haendler 3, Neimi 2, Kroger 1, Shea 3, Hering 1,
4/11 Redhook 7 - Rainier 3 Redhook Recap: This day is why the indians created the great sport of lacrosse….Awesome day in Seattle…. Solid hard fought game by both sides. Both Goalies played tough in cage. Redhook: Younge 1, Caponi 3, Hurt 2, Sauri 1,
4/11 Huron 11 - Adecco 9 Huron Recap: What a field!!!  What a day!!! The weather and the field were both beautiful as Huron and Adecco faced off for the first time this season.  After Huron scored the first goal, Adecco ran up five goals to take a 5-1 lead towards the end of the first quarter.  By half, Huron closed the gap to 7-5 with Adecco leading.  The second half saw a combination of intensified defense and hard rides yielding a Huron lead at 11-7 before Adecco put two in in the last three minutes.  Good hard game by both teams.  Look forward to squaring off again in a month. Huron: Mackey 3, Hanjal 2, Alexander 2, Erickson 1, Pisorski 1, Koransky 1, Sandborne 1,
4/11 Tentawon 7 - Wy'East 5 Tentawon Recap: Hats off to a very shorthanded WyEast team who played with heart the entire game.  Tentawon was determined to get another victory under our belts and we played with tenacity for 4 full quarters.  While everyone contributed to this victory, kudos go to Ian Kline and Scott Fogg who played their hearts out.  Tentawon is improving each week and we look forward to playing a tough WyEast team down in Portland later in the season. Wy'East Recap: Once again Wy'East put themselves in a tough spot by showing up shorthanded and facing a hungry Tentawon squad. After coming out of the gates flatfooted we were able to pick things up in the second half and close within one late in the game. But like the day before watched as a determined Tentawon squad put away the game with only a couple minutes left with a nice goal from close inside. Tough to win with a short squad traveling as we all know, but as with the day before, the sun was out and any day it's not raining in the NW can't be all bad. Good game Blue. See you at PNLA. Tentawon: Jensen 2, Fimmano 2, Miller 1, Merton 1, Cassidy 1,      Wy'East: Rudick 3, Arnold 1, Cleveland 1,
4/10 Seattle 9 - Portland 15 Seattle Recap: bah! Seattle: Everett 2, Rezoski 2, Simmons 1, Maehl 1, Woo 1, Lowe 1, Tim Fitz 1,    Portland: Haynes 2, Maguire 4, Arnold 1, Neimi 2, Anderson 1, Shea 3, Rexford 1, Trinchero 1, Kroger 1,
4/10 Redhook 9 - Rainier 5 Redhook Recap: ….Similar to the UConn - Duke game a couple weeks ago..Back and forth the whole game … Redhook: Younge 2, Cone 1, Hurt 3, Sauri 2,  Jackson 1
4/10 Huron 11 - Eugene 7 Huron Recap: After a long drive in the morning for a 3:00pm start time, Huron got an early lead and held on to that lead the rest of the way. Eugene had players that didn't make the road trip north ealier this season that made this game a tough one on both ends.  At times, it was a little chippy.  The rain drenched field forced Huron to move the ball rather than drive to the goal.  Thanks for the hospitality and the cool hats Eugene.  See you at PNLA. Huron: Mackey 3, Koransky 2, Showers 2, Pisorski 1, Upchurch 1, Hajnal 2,     Eugene: Clemons 2, Sheperd 2, Strening 2, Dahl 1,
4/10 Tentawon 3 - Old Seattle 8 Tentawon Recap: Old Seattle has proved once again that skill and cunning are valuable assets in lacrosse.  Backup goalie Butch Marsh was stellar in the goal while rookie attackman Chris Merton and midfielder Lee Hubbard got their first goals of the season.  This was a fun game with very few penalties and lots of gentlemanly sportmanship.  See ya next year you Old Dogs! Old Seattle Recap: With thinning hair and a thin line-up (players, not bodies) the Old Seattle Lacrosse Club pulled out a gritty win over Tentawan.  Jerry Kalliher was the game's top score with a team record 4 goals.  The defense played solid, lead by goalie Bob Lapsley and Defensemen Herb Tajalle, Tuck Gionet, Alvin Travis, Ray Foster and Tim House.  Tentawon's goalie played a great game and humbled Tony Olney on several occasions. Tentawon: Brick 1, Merton 1, Hubbard 1,        Old Seattle: Kalliher 4, Fountain 2, Mills 1, Olney 1,
4/10 Steelhead 11 - Wy'East 8 Steelhead Recap: The Steelhead showed up to avenge their only "B" league loss this season but when Wy'East scored three quick goals they made it known that they had other ideas.  The goals came in bunches for both teams with the Steelhead finally wearing the travelling Orgoneans down and coming away with an 11-8 victory.  Tony Esser was the big scorer for the 'head putting in four goals.  Kristian Brekke scored three.  Wy'East Recap: Wy'East "lite" traveled to Mount Vernon for our rematch with Steelhead. With a short bench of two, we jumped out to a three goal lead only to watch  Steelhead storm back with five or six unanswerd goals to go up at the half. We clawed our way back in the second half to close within two late in the game only to watch Steelhead crush our comeback hopes with a late man-up goal with under two minutes left. A great individual game from Dan Jenkins kept us in it with his four goals and hats off to Brig Jensen for his first goal of the season. All in all, aside from the loss, not a bad day. The game was played hard and clean, the sun was out and the beers were cold. Thanks Steelhead and we'll see you in a couple weeks. Steelhead: Brekke 3, Esser 4, Johnson 1, Shuck 1, Wisman 2,      Wy'East: Jenkins 4, Cleveland 2, Rudick 1, Jensen 1,
4/4 Redhook 10 - Victoria 11 Redhook Recap: Redhook lost this game in the final 3 seconds of the game. Fortunately it was a non-league game and we will get Victoria again in mid may. Again, Spaven stopped a ton of Redhook shots! Victoria Recap: a tight Exhibition game - with that wonderful cool Canadian breeze blowing. Redhook: Sauri 1, Hurt 2, Mastretti 1, Younge 2, Jackson 3,      Victoria: Tim Dennett 2, Tarey Pollock 3, Jamie Tasko 3, Mike Verhagen 1, Scott Phair 1,
4/3 Blue Collar 11 - Rainier 4 Blue Collar Recap: Good game with a much improved Rainier squad.  Blue Collar: Foster, Aaron 2, Foster, Adam 2, Bissell 2, Droppelman, J 1, Droppelman, S 2, Gilbert 1, Barr 1,
4/3 Redhook 7 - Victoria 9 Redhook Recap: Redhook took another close tough loss. The game was well played by both sides. Solid goal tending by Gary Spaven of Victoria was the difference in the game. Redhook: Hurt 3, Mastretti 1, Younge 1, Vannoy 2,       Victoria: Tim Dennett 1, Tarey Pollock 1, Leigh Bissenden 2, Adam Page 1, Jamie Tasko 1, Nigel Tasko 3,
3/28 Victoria 11 - Blue Collar 8 - Victoria: Tim Dennett 1, Griffiths 3, Pollock 3, J Tasko 2, N Tasko 2,
3/28 Seattle 18 - Redhook 7 Seattle Recap: Seattle looked stellar.  Opened the game up by scoring 5 goals in under 10 minutes.  Redhook came within three in the second quarter, but to no avail - we came right back with three of our own.  Seattle ran away with the win, 18 - 7. Redhook Recap: Tough Game. Redhook had moments during the game, but Seattle clearly played better. They jumped out to a 5-0 lead quick. We closed the gap to 5-3, but then lost it to their fast breaks. Seattle: Bland 4, Everett 4, Fitz (Chris) 3, Low 2, Fitz (Tim) 1, Rezoski 1, Ostrander 1, Norwood 1, Woo 1, Simmons 1  Redhook: Caponi 2, Sauri 2, Maestretti 1, Younge 1, Jackson 1,
3/28 Adecco 7 - Wy'East 4 Adecco Recap: After losing to Colleg Inn the day before we decided we should probably win this game.  It was close at halftime, but we took over in the second half.  They were only able to score once in the second half and we took total control of the game in the second half.  We had outstanding goalkeeping by Chris and great defense from our D-men.  It will be nice to have a couple weeks off so some of guys can recooperate from some naging injuries. Wy'East Recap: In the typical grudge match with Multnomah/Adecco, Wy'East came out a little flat.  A much better showing than the previous day, but we still lost.  The game was closer than the score shows, and the opposing goalie had a good game. If Wy'East can get all their weapons shooting at the net, the team could win. Lots of shots in the last 2 min., but not many on net.  What will this team look like on the upcoming Seattle roadtrip?  Everyone had better step it up and start playing better ball. Adecco: Long 2, Jenks 2, Bartow 1, Emmons 1, Martineau 1,      Wy'East: Barter 2, Stearns 1, Rudick 2,     Wy'East: Barter 2, Stearns 1, Rudick 2,
3/28 Eugene 6 - College Inn 11 Eugene Recap: College Inn traveled to Eugene with 12 players but still managed to win.  They came out fast and scored three/four quick goals.  Eugene was never in it after that point.  The combination of good team defense and good ball movement on offense enable College Inn to control the tempo of the game and give their players opportunities to rest.  Eugene put together  enough offense to pull within three in the second half, but that was as close as it got.  A good time was had by all after the game. Eugene: Graff 1, Wilton 1, Strening 1, Foster 1, Cudek 1, Dan ??? 1,     College Inn: Benson 4, Mariani 4, Clarke 2, Daniels 1
3/28 Tentawon 8 - Steelhead 11 Tentawon Recap: Another tough loss for an ailing Tentawon team.  We lost this one in the 4th quarter. Steelhead Recap: What happened to last weeks beautiful weather?  Amidst the cold, wind, and rain the mighty 'head and the men from Tentawon battled through another close game.  After a weak third quarter the 'head found themselves down by two goals going into the fourth quarter. Showing more composure than I could have ever imagined from this team, we held things together and rallied back to take the lead and then put them away with some great fastbreak goals.  I'm sure the Tentawon guys are frustrated but they showed alot of class none the less.  I am also sure that they will pull themselves together for the second half of the season.  Tentawon: Henneberry 3, Wojcicki 2, Jensen 1, Williams 1, Milano 1,      Steelhead: Brekke 3, Wisman 2, Johnson 3, Lendt 1, Beckman 1, Esser 1,
3/27 Victoria 6 - Blue Collar 7 Victoria Recap: A weekend of great games and cold weather. Victoria: Tim Dennett 1, Griffiths 1, Pollack 1, J Tasko 2, N Tasko 1,
3/27 Portland 16 - Rainier 6 Portland Recap: In the third game of a triple header at PSU's new sport-turf field Portland Lacrosse Club (PLC) opened its  PNLA "A" league season against Raineer Lacrosse Club with a 16-6 win.  Coming off a disappointing showing in San Diego, Portland looked to have strong start to league play.  PLC pulled away in the second half from Raineer in a game that started close and was only 5-3 at half.  PLC had strong games from all positions, but noteworthy were the performances by veteran attackman Jeff Haynes (Hopkins) with 6 goals and newcomer attack Tim Maguire a Gettysburg standout with 2 goals and newly acquired midfielder from Wright State Keith Kroger with 3 goals. Portland's defense with smooth  Joe O'Donnell (Gonzaga) at the helm put in another solid effort.   As for our opponent, the rumors of Raineer's demise have been greatly exagerated as a strong club made the roadie to Portland.  A core group of solid players are the foundation of the revamped Raineer club and Portland looks forward to rematch on the April 18th after they've had some time to work together. Portland: Haynes 6, Kroeger 3, Maguire 2, Demers 1, Wheaton  1, Arnold 1, Lardy 1, Guy 1,
3/27 Adecco 6 - College Inn 13 Adecco Recap: We kept it close for the first half, and even had the lead at one point in the first half.  The second half was a different story. We couldn't score and they did, and we lost.  Imagine that, if you dont score you dont win.  Unfortantly we do not play them again, hopefully we will meet them again. Adecco: Martineau 2, Marmillion 1, Long 3,        College Inn: Johnston 5, Benson 3, Mariani 2, Daniels 1, Novak 1, Brown 1,
3/27 Eugene 11 - Wy'East 9 Eugene Recap: The PSU field is a great venue to play lacrosse!  Eugene started out with two quick scores, but Wy'East came back and the game settled in to trading scores.  Eugene broke the game open in the second half with some quick goals, but again Wy'East came back and closed the gap.  Wy'East scored the final goal to pull within two in the last minute, but Eugene held them off for the win.  Wy'East Recap: Wy'East needs to check their heads.  Are they ready to play lacrosse this year?  A lack of fire is causing a lot of poor play and losses.  Team defense seems to be a problem.  Hope we can fix that at some point.  Very frustrating.Good game from Stan Barter, Ian Jones, Clayton Stearns...but we need to be more complete throughout the roster.  We'll need more to beat Eugene in Eugene for the "Willamette Cup" later this year. Eugene: Graff 4, Strening 3, Dahl 1, Bloom 1, Clemons 1, Dan ??? 1,     Wy'East: Stearns 2, Badon 1, Soo Hoo 1, Barter 2, Jones 2, Torrance 1,
3/27 Huron 6 - Tentawon 4 Huron Recap: It was looking pretty bleak for us, ten minutes to game time and only 13 or 14 players present.  Once the game started we just played for pride and it worked.  We were able to jump out to a 2-0 lead and then hold off Tentawon's offense with solid team defense.  Our offense really did not produce as many goals as we should have but die to  hustle for ground balls, smart plays, good defense and an outstanding goalie we were able to hold on and secure a victory.  Great game Tentawon and we'll see you again real soon. Tentawon Recap: Despite not being able to do anything right during this game to include passing, catching, clearing and shooting we were able to keep the game within 2 goals.  We will have to sit down and think about what we need to do to improve our squad. Huron: Mackey 1, Sanborn 1, Hajnal 1, Bennett 1, Greggersen 2,    Tentawon: Brick 1, Miller 1, Jensen 2,
3/21 Wy'East 3 - Huron 9 Wy'East Recap: Wy'East didn't travel well to Tacoma.  Missing several key players from the day before, there wasn't much left in the tanks.  We rolled in late for the warm ups, and things didn't get better.  Hung tough for the first half and maybe the third quarter, but Huron played well in the 4th and won easily.  Poor job on the Wy'East clear led to goals for Huron.  Lack of control on Wy'East's offensive side led to few opportunities.  Dave Torrance and Mike Conlon scored their first PNLA goals.  Guest attackman Tim Eng had the other Wy'East score, getting crushed as he shot.  This is a game that we know we could have played better.  Good job by Huron midfield and attack to control the ball.  We look down the schedule and await Huron's visit to Portland. Wy'East: Conlon 1, Eng 1, Torrance 1,        Huron: Mackey 2, Gudeweiz 2, Alexander 1, Sanborn 1, McGuire 1, Koransky 1, Hanjal 1,
3/21 Steelhead 11 - Adecco 8 Steelhead Recap: The PSU turf field is a wonderful place to play lacrosse.  Adecco played a strong, competative, hard hitting game.  Coming from a devastating lose the day before, the steelhead were out for revenge. Unfortunate for Adecco who happened to be our next opponent.  The game was close most of the time with both teams battling for the ball. If not for the text book play of the Steelheads back up goalie (Dan Johnson),  the game would have been lost.  Both teams took a tremendous number of shoots and its hard to say how many saves there were. It was a hard game for both goalies. The Steelhead played like a team and that made us hard to stop.  Adecco played hard. They are a good team.  Good luck guys. Steelhead: Wisman 4, Buckly 2, Brekke 3, Shuck 1, Esser 1,      Adecco: Jenks 2, Long 2, Martineau 2, Emmons 2
3/21 Huron 9 - Wy'East 3 Huron Recap: The game was pretty tight from the get-go.  Wy East started the scoring but we was able to string two goals together and take the lead.  Wy East fought hard and started to win most of the ground balls due to good stick checks and poor scooping throughout the first half.  The first half ended 3-2 Huron (I think.)  we were able to turn the tide about midway through the 3rd quarter by controlling the ground balls and making offensive possesions count. The fourth quarter was all Huron with midfielders hustling for everything, defence making steller plays, and the attack making wise choices with possesion.  Another outstanding performance by our keeper helped to seal up  the victory.  Great game Wy East and we will see you again after PNLA. Huron: Mackey 2, Gudeweiz 2, Alexander 1, Sanborn 1, McGuire 1, Koransky 1, Hanjal 1,
3/20 College Inn 9 - Tentawon 7 College Inn Recap: College Inn: Johnston 2, Mariani 2, Benson 2, Holmes 1, Miller 1,
3/20 Wy'East 15 - Steelhead 11 Wy'East Recap: Wy'East's first home game of the season, and after a long roadtrip the past weekend it was home sweet home.  Steelhead traveled well and we saw a bunch of new players.  It was a hard fought game with each team making a push for the lead.  Lee Rudick and Dan Jenkins controlled a lot of the Wy'East offense; each had 4 goals.  Clayton Stearns had his second hat trick of the season.  Steelhead always hits hard, and today was no exception. The Wy'East defense was able to clamp down in the 4th quarter.  Good work by Jon Stevens in goal.  A nice time after the game hanging out with  the Steelhead guys at Bloomington Park.  Parity is pretty good in the "B" Division, as any team can win on any given day.  We look forward to a nice trip to Mt. Vernon later.  Steelhead Goalie Gary, our thoughts are with you and your family.  Also, look out for the Wis kids and the candy sales... like shooting fish in a barrel. Wy'East: Stearns 3, Jones 2, Rudick 4, Jenkins 4, Weyer 1, Badon 1,
3/20 Eugene 9 - Adecco 14 Eugene Recap: Addeco came down with a good group on a great day for lacrosse.  They were able to start fast and never look back.  Eugene still suffers from a lack of intensity and consistent play at the midfield.  Addeco played good defense and won a majority of the ground balls.  Much improved over last year.  A good time was had by all at Eugene's new hang out Pegasus Pizza. Eugene: Graff 2, Cudek 1, Wilton 2, Strening 1, Clemons 2, Dan  ?? 1 Adecco: Long 2, Noble, M 5, Emmons 4, Jenks 1, Ondick 2
3/20 Steelhead 11 - Wy'East 15 Steelhead Recap: It started out like any game between two evenly matched teams;  the score being tied at twos after the first quarter. But, things went dredfully wrong for the steelhead therafter.  We made mistake after mistake. Between our dropped passes, our inefficeint cradles, and pour scooping ability, Wy'East made it look easy when they took advantage of us. Half time five to three.  Dispite our poor performance we played them evenly in the third at 10 to 8.  Wy'East showed us that they still had energy when their lighting quick offence took it to us. Frustated the steelhead subsided to a 15 to 11 lose. Wy'East; a good bunch, deserve a lot of credit and respect. Way to go guys. Steelhead: massiglia 5, brekke 2, esser 2, gillison 1, goodman 1,
3/20 Tentawon 7 - College Inn 9 Tentawon Recap: This was another hard-fought battle between Tentawon and College Inn.  We traded leads several times during the game and were tied 4-4 at the half.  We went up 6-4 in the third but the Pub was able to tie it up going into the 4th.  We had a monetary mental lapse for 2 minutes in the 4th and the Pub put in 3 quick goals.  We made several valiant attempts to make up the 3 goal difference but only Rick Jensen was able to put one past Kevin.  While we were disappointed with the loss, every player gave 100% on the field.  We look forward to playing these guys later in the season. Tentawon: Brick 1, Henneberry 2, Williams 1, Jensen 1, Wojcicki 1, Miller 1,
3/14 Seattle 24 - Steelhead 4   Seattle: Low 2, Bland 5, Fitz 2, Fitz 3,
3/14 Portland 30 - Adecco 3   Portland: Haynes 8, Haendler 4, Lardy 3, Shea 6, Maguire 3
3/14 Blue Collar 7 - Redhook 6   Blue Collar: Foster 3, Bissell 2, Barr 2,
