Eugene 15 - Wy'East 4

Eugene Recap: The annual tug for the jug, the Willamette Cup!   Wy'East and ourselves have a storied tradition of whoever wins the second matchup of the season gets to hold on to the Beautiful Willamette Cup.  We get to have bragging rights for another year as we finished our best season ever!  We don't look foward to having to travel to Seattle, but we are psyched we made the playoffs for the first time in 17 years.  Thanks Wy'East for sticking it out.  Who knows, next season could be yours.

Eugene: Shepherd 1, Graff 3, Clemons 4, Strening 4, Dahl 2, Stodart 1

5/20

Blue Collar 13 - Victoria 8

Blue Collar Recap: Collar reinforcements arrived Sunday morning to give us a whopping three subs - one at each position.  Game was tight all the way with Blue Collar trailing by 2 going into the fourth quarter.  A solid final period had Blue Collar scoring 7 goals and allowing zero.  Tempers flared a bit on the Victoria side when they knew the game was out of reach, cheers to the Collar to not retaliating and playing at thier level.
Great game all around for the Collar with Haley losing no face-offs for the day and seeing both Tim O'Hara and Greg "Houndog" Martens putting in 4 goals a piece.
Game followed by cold beers, volleyball and hot sunshine on the roof of the Strathcona.  Pictures posted soon to the Collar Web site.

Blue Collar: Martens 4, Contreras 3, O'Hara 4, Snorsky 1, Dupuis 1

5/20

Predators 3 - Huron 10

Predators Recap: We don't even want to talk about it...

Predators: Heath 2, Kelly 1

5/20

Huron 11 - Predators 3

Huron Recap: Beautiful day for Lacrosse.  We benefited from a slim in numbers Predator team who had a tough game the day before against the Pub.Jeff Toth and our D had stellar games.  Thom O'Rourke was huge in closing down Predators awesome attack with a little help from his friends.  Farnsworth had the best save I have seen in my life as he dove across the crease to make a diving stick save fully extended.  It was pretty cool.  We know we will have a tough game in two weeks against these guys.  They will be rested and ready to avenge this loss.  See you then.  The win gave us our first opportunity to be the one seed in the playoffs.  Good luck to all teams.

Huron: Gregersen 3, Pozorski 2, Upchurch 2, Kelly 2, Alexander 1, Grey 1

Portland 1 - Rainier 0

Portland Recap: Rainier Forfeit

Tentawon 4 - Huron 13

Tentawon Recap: Farewell game for 2 great players in Tentawon history, John Mulkey and John Cassidy.  They will both be sorely missed next season.  Best of luck Champ #10 and Champ #18!

Tentawon: Cassidy 1, Ligenza 1, Geis 1, Brick 1

5/19

Corillian 9 - Seattle 5

Corillian Recap: Good game by both teams.  We got off to a 3-0 lead and Seattle was never able to completly close the gap.  Excellent intensity by Corillian, as we only had 4 people on the bench.  David Wickwire was a phenom in the cage; some key saves early had Seattle altering their game plan.

Corillian: Martin 4, Van Noy 2, Erickson 1, Joemama 1, Coulter 1

5/19

Eugene 13 - Steelhead 6

Eugene Recap: EUGENE!!! experimented with some line changes.  EUGENE!!! outplayed'head in every quarter. EUGENE!!! looks ready for the playoffs.  EUGENE!!! appreciates 'head coming down.

Eugene: Dahl 5, Clemons 3, Foster 2, Shepherd 1, Bennazi 1, Graff 1

5/19

Blue Collar 8 - Victoria 10

Blue Collar Recap: Collar travelled extremely light up North with only 10 players for this game.  Game was close all the way to the end going back and forth. In the end, the 5 Victoria subs proved to be the difference as Blue Collar was perhaps a little fatigued with no subs and taking the Clipper up that very morning.

Great defensive game by Todd Zackey and a great offensive day by Eric Contreras.

Blue Collar: Martens 2, Contreras 4, O'Hara 1, Bissell 1

5/19

Huron 13 - Tentawon 4

Huron Recap: Not to be out done, we hired ourt own dog to leave a suprise on Tenatwon's warm up side of the field.  We were able to turn things around after the embarassment last weekend.  Everyone stepped their game up.  Jamie Gregersen had and outstanding day netting four goals.  Ryan Kelly made a camio appearance as we begin our recruiting process and made negotiations difficult by putting in 4 of his own.  Welcome back KJ who proved to be huge on face offs.  Way to get things turned around boys.  Good game Tentawon...good luck Mulkey.

Huron: Kelly 4, Gregersen 4, Mackey 3, Upchurch 1, Grey 1

5/19

College Inn 7 - Predators 6

College Inn Recap:

College Inn: Butler 2, Chao 2, Bergin 1, Mariani 1, Miller 1

5/19

Adecco 14 - Wy'East 1

Adecco Recap: Good all around effort.  Wy'East came with a short crew but still battled with us.  Great game by the defense, who laid the law down today and by goalie 'Timmmy' Hart who 'handicapped' their attack by allowing only one goal.  The offense was able to make plays and create numerous scoring chances.  Todd Stockdale led the way with four goals, followed by Darryl Long and Joe Corbit who each added a hat trick of their own.  The scoring was closed out by Levitt, Fitch, Wilkerson, and Haller chippiing in one a piece.  Haller would like everyone to know his was with his d-stick AND lefthanded.
Way to end the season boys.  Let's look to next year and build on it.

Adecco: Corbit 3, D. Long 3, Stockdale 4, Haller 1, Levitt 1, Fitch 1, Wilkerson 1

Adecco 7 - Steelhead 9

Adecco Recap: Very disappointing game.  Were up 6-5 at half and went flat.  Great effort by Steelhead with the lack of numbers.....

Adecco: Corbit 3, D.Long 1, Fitch 1, Levitt 1, New Guy 1

5/12

Eugene 13 - Predators 11

Eugene Recap: We finally got one in on the Predators and cinched our first Playoff berth in 17 years.  Of course that means another trip up north (how come there always in Seattle anyway?), but we will do our best.  The Predators came light, but started strong and hung in till the end.  Unfortunately this game was marred by questionable officiating and I can honestly say I had more fun losing to the Predators in Portland than beating them at home.  Sorry B-League, we are trying to solve our reffing issues.  Please give our new guys time to learn the game.

Eugene: Clemons 4, Strening 2, Shepherd 2, Dahl 2, Schifgens 1, Bennazi 1, Graff 1

Predators Recap: It was a nice sunny day.  Don't understand why less people show when its sunny than when its rainy.

Predators: Vanselow 3, Kelly 3, Torrance 1, Emmons 1, Voas 1, Hering 1

5/6

Seattle 17 - Portland 8

Seattle Recap: Yeah, dat's right! Seattle wasn't going to let this one slip by.  We came out stong and ended strong.  We maintained the lead all game.  Excellent performance by every single Seattle player.

Seattle: Means 3, Low 3, Rizzo 3, Birkmire 3, Simmons 2, Bach 2, Woo 1

5/6

Corillian 11 - Victoria 13

Corillian Recap: Physical, game.  Can't wait for the rematch this Saturday...hopefully the refs won't allow our goalie to be held down out of bounds as he blows the whistle putting the ball in play.  After the play, they remarked that they had never seen a rulebook and therefore shouldn't be held accountable.

Corillian: Erickson 3, Coulter 3, Jackson 1, Vermuelen 1, Martin 1, Maestretti 1, Sauri 1

5/6

Tentawon 4 - Huron 9

Tentawon Recap: Our short field strategy helped to keep the Huron juggernaut to under 10 goals but we couldn't capitalize on offense in the 2nd half.

Tentawon: Ligenza 2, Fersch 1, Fimmano 1

5/6

Huron 9 - Tentawon 4

Huron Recap: The field conditions was summed up nicely by a dog at the end of our game that pooped at the face-off X.  Short narrow fields killed our clears.  Good thing Toth and the D were playing well.  Not much to brag about in this game. See you in two weeks Tentawon.

Huron: Swain 2, Alexander 2, Pozorski 2, Upchurch 1, Gregersen 1, Mackey 1

5/6

College Inn 12 - Wy'East 4

College Inn Recap:

College Inn: Johnston 3, Chao 2, Daniels 2, Mariani 2, Anderson 1, Butler 1, McGarity 1

5/6

Adecco 3 - Predators 10

Adecco Recap: Tough game.  Great effort in the second half.  We'll keep our heads up and look to finish the season strong and on an up note.

Adecco: Dirt box 1, Corbit 1, Wilkerson 1

5/5

Predators 7 - Wy'East 6

Predators Recap: Wy'East showed their best today.  We showed our worst.  This game was too close for our liking.

Predators: Maslin 4, Torrance 1, Kelly 1, Emmons 1

5/5

Seattle 8 - Portland 10

Seattle Recap: We came out strong and held the lead at halftime.  Portland stepped up during the second half, took the lead and maintained it until the end.  It didn't help much that we had over 15 minutes of man-down.  oobay on the efsray.

Seattle: Means, P 3, Rizzo 1, Simmons 1, Bissell 1, someotherdudes 2

5/5

Blue Collar 1 - Rainier 0

Blue Collar Recap: Unfortunate forfeit by Rainier.  We gave up a couple Collar players and at least made a fun scrimmage out of it.

Blue Collar:

5/5

Eugene 13 - College Inn 12

Eugene Recap: Pub came lite to our land of plenty, but we were unable to catch and throw, and were beaten to almost every ground ball until mid way through the fourth. Pub took advantage and were up 4 heading into the forth and promptly put in another.  Things were looking bleak for Eugene until we employed an impromptu 10 man ride and pressured a tired Pub into giving us opportunities.  We were up one with 2 minutes left only to have Pub tie it up again.  We popped in another with 1 minute left, but had to defend our lead with a penalty disadvantage.  Would probably have been a good game had there been some decent officials.  Sorry Pub.  Thanks for being such good sports.  You showed real character in your defeat.

Eugene: Dahl 4, Clemons 3, Bennazi 2, Strening 2, Shepherd 1, Dixon 1

5/5

Huron 11 - Steelhead 8

Huron Recap: Steelhead jumped out early with a 4-2 lead by the end of the first quater.  Our defense beared down and only let up 4 goals the rest of the way.  Lucky for us, after heading into the fourth quarter down 7-5, our offense woke up and outscored Steelhead 6-1 in the decisive quarter.  Nice way to start a tough May schedule.  See you guys in September.

Huron: Swain 3, Mackey 2, Upchurch 1, Alexander 1, Showers 1, Grey 1, Gregerson 1, Pozorski 1

5/5

Steelhead 8 - Huron 10

College Inn 12 - Eugene 13

College Inn Recap:

College Inn: Butler 3, Johnston 3, Bergin 2, McGarity 2, Anderson 1, Mariani 1

4/22

Corillian 9 - Rainier 7

Corillian Recap: It was a fun game, though we were definitely not playing our best ball.  We trailed for most of first three quarters and tried to recapture some momentum in the fourth.  Rainier played a solid game all around--they won most faceoffs and played a good, physical game.  Dave VanNoy was our catalyst on offense, as he moved well to help get people open.  Rainier's goalie played a great game--don't be fooled by his shoulder pads...(?)

Corillian: VanNoy 3, Martin 2, Coulter 2, Vermuelen 1, Sauri 1

4/22

Predators 13 - Adecco 9

Predators Recap: This one got messy.  Adecco has done a great job rebuilding.  It seemed like everything turned against us in the 3rd.  The weather, the refs and then the score.  Adecco tied it 8-8 in the fourth.  We were fortunate to walk away with a win.

Predators: Heath 6, Kelly 2, Bell 2, Torrance 1, Berrien 1, Smullen 1

4/22

Blue Collar 6 - Portland 9

Blue Collar Recap:

Blue Collar: Painter 1, Contreras 2, Bayly 1, Snider 1, O'Hara 1

4/22

Huron 19 - Wy'East 6

Huron Recap: Great team effort for us.  We were able to spread the ball around to get 9 diffrent scoreres.  Wy'East was short on players and without their normal goalie.  Our Defense and goalie had a great game and gave up only man-up or unsettled goals.  See you guys next week at the PBT.

Huron: Mackey 6, Pizorski 3, Grey 3, Alexander 2, Upchurch 1, Koransky 1, Spzak 1, Swain 1, Gregerson 1

4/22

Rainier 7 - Corillian 9

Rainier Recap: Rainier's 12 guys once again played tough.

Rainier: Sandgrathe 2, Hay 2, Ehrnman 1, Monroe 2

College Inn: Johnston 2, Mariani 2, Bergin 1, Daniels 1, Holmes 1, McGarity 1, Miller 1

4/22

Adecco 9 - Portland 13

Adecco Recap: Tough game to lose...... tied 9 - 9 in the 4th quarter until Predators pulled away.  We look forward to the rematch in a few weeks.  Bring on the Alcatraz Criminals!

P.S.  Next Saturday marks the return of the "boy wonder car insurance salesman" himself....

Adecco: McCarthy 4, Stockdale 2, Corbit 2, Van Dyke 1

4/21

Corillian 4 - Blue Collar 9

Corillian Recap: We were a bit shorthanded, but were nonetheless outplayed by a very deep Blue Collar team.  While the score was close at halftime, we failed to hang with them late in the game.  It hurt to be missing an entire midfield line and two longsticks.  Hats off to the collar for a great game.

Corillian: Sauri 2, Woodley 1, Maestretti 1

4/21

Predators 12 - Eugene 8

Predators Recap: Exciting game.  We're not looking forward to traveling to Eugene.  I just hope UO has finals that week.

Predators: Kelly 4, Heath 3, Emmons 2, Haendler 2, Bell 1

4/21

Tentawon 14 - Steelhead 12

Tentawon Recap: Beautiful day, great game. We jumped out early but Steelhead fought back to take a 10-6 halftime lead.  Cheese got us fired up for the second half and netted 5 goals himself.  Our defense came up huge by allowing only 2 goals in the 2nd half while the offense put away 8 and produced our highest point output of the season.  Good game 'Head!

Tentawon: Fimmano 5, Ligenza 4, Cassidy 1, Schwartz 1, Fersch 1, Wojcicki 1, Dale 1

4/21

Blue Collar 10 - Corillian 4

Blue Collar Recap:

Blue Collar: Painter 4, Contreras 2, Dyer 1, Snider 1, Martens 1, O'Hara 1

4/21

College Inn 13 - Wy'East 4

College Inn Recap:

College Inn: Johnston 4, Mariani 3, Anderson 2, Daniels 2, Chao 1, Gacayan 1

4/21

Eugene 8 - Predators 12

Eugene Recap: We were missing key players at every position but goalie, but still had decent numbers.  Unfortunatly we let them put in 5 in the first half to our one (by a long stick!).  We played even after that, with a few rallies to threaten the lead, but we were repulsed for our second loss in a row. A fairly clean game that was a lot of fun even though we lost.  Thanks Predators, see you at the PBLTI!

Eugene: Stoddart 3, Clemons 1, Dahl 1, Shepherd 2, Naghski 1

4/14

Wy'East 4 - Predators 11

Wy'East Recap: This is turning into a fun rivalry. Great game by the Predators. I'm not saying those guys are young or anything but I swear I saw their second middie line trading Pokemon cards between shifts. It's amazing what a little speed will do in this league. All of our goals but one were assisted by Lee Rudick. Despite the sarcasm, we're actually starting to play some decent lacrosse. Our team defnense is starting to play consistently and we're getting after the ground balls. We had a great turnout which hopefully will carry through the end of the year.

Wy'East: Stearns 2, Cleveland 1, Rudick 1

4/14

Rainier 4 - Seattle 8

Rainier Recap:

Rainier: Sandgrathe 2, Hay 1, Bender 1

4/14

Predators 11 - Wy'East 4

Predators Recap: Good clean game.

Predators: Kelley 4, Emmons 3, Berrien 1, Kaelberer 1, Oberhelman 1, Haendler 1

4/14

Seattle 8 - Rainier 4

Seattle Recap: We showed much better offensive execution this week and rode a strong first half to victory.  Rainier's defense tightened up a lot from the first game with the addition of a full-time goalie, but our defense was solid again.

Seattle: Ostrander 2, Bissell 2, Birkmire 1, Low 1, Woo 1, Fitzgerald 1

4/14

Blue Collar 8 - Corillian 10

Blue Collar Recap: Err....no comment

Blue Collar: Painter 3, O'Hara 1, Bayly 1, Contreras 1, Mechura 1, Dyer 1

4/14

Corillian 10 - Blue Collar 8

Corillian Recap: It was a close game with many lead changes...keys to winning the game were good extra-man and man-down play, as well as unconscious play by Tim Morris, who had 37 saves.  It was also helpful to have Guns and Maestro taking our faceoffs--both have mad game.  Physical, hard fought contest with lots of hitting, plenty of penalties.  We grew as a team with this win.

Corillian: Sauri 3, Martin 2, Coulter 2, Jackson 2, Cone 1

4/8

Wy'East 8 - Adecco 13

Wy'East Recap: This hasn't happened in quite a while. Great game, Adecco. As fitting this matchup the ball was on the ground quite a lot. At least we had some sun and exercise.

Wy'East: Stearns 2, Kane 2, Rudick 1, Jensen 1, Underland 1, Posner 1

4/8

Victoria 1 - Rainier 0

Victoria Recap: Rainier Forfeit

Victoria:

4/8

Tentawon 8 - College Inn 10

Tentawon Recap: Another very close and very physical game. This one could have gone either way and it was just the Pub's day. Rookie Ned Ligenza capped a great weekend by netting 5 more.

Tentawon: Ligenza 5, Fimmano 2, Dale 1

4/8

College Inn 10 - Tentawon 8

College Inn Recap:

College Inn: Bergin 3, Butler 2, McGarity 2, Mariani 1, Miller 1, Walsh 1

4/8

Predators 17 - Steelhead 5

Predators Recap: Steelhead did not travel well.  Secondly, Steelhead asked for advice of a good place to drink (sat night) from the next days opponent.  All this allowed the Predators to avenge their disappointment from the prior days loss to College Inn.

Predators: Heath 3, Haendler 5, Lewan 2, Maslin 1, Calvert 1, Bell 1, Berrien 1, Kelly 1, Emmons 1, Torrance 1

4/8

Huron 13 - Eugene 8

Huron Recap: Great game Eugene.

Huron: Swain 4, Mackey 3, Upchurch 2, Grey 1, Szpak 1, Alex 1, Gregersen 1

4/8

Eugene 8 - Huron 13

Eugene Recap: With some of our best players still in Eugene, and being a little banged up from Saturday, we compounded the situation by forgetting how to catch and throw and make simple slides during the first half.  Huron took advantage and popped in 9 to our 3 by half.  We talked it over and outplayed Huron after that, but they were simply too strong and fended off our comeback attempt.  Sorry not many of us could drink your beer boys.  We had to get home.

Eugene: Clemons 3, Dahl 1, Stodart 2, Graff 2

4/8

Steelhead 5 - Predators 17

Steelhead Recap: Goals were hard to come by against the very good Predator goalie. The Predators had a big lead at halftime and Steelhead couldn't mount a comeback. Steelhead was very short-handed on people, just like the Predators were when they came to play at Mt. Vernon, a game which was won by Steelhead. It would be interesting to see both teams at full strength.

Steelhead: Beckman 1, Esser 1, Gulczynski 1, Shanahan 1, Wisman 1

4/8

Corillian 9 - Portland 12

Corillian Recap: Game was played far, far too early.  Something about a place called 'Mary's'...
Portland showed up ready to play and got out to an 8-1 first-quarter lead.  Corillian, now awake, came back and made it a great game by winning the all of the last three quarters.  Tim Morris played huge in the cage for us and made it possible for us to have the comeback that we had.  We never gave up and all feel that we shoulda coulda woulda won this one too. Hats off to Portland for a great game and diversified scoring attack.
Nice to light up Joe for 19 goals on the weekend...

Corillian: Erickson 3, Jackson 2, Maestretti 2, Sauri 1, Coulter 1

4/8

Adecco 14 - Wy'East 10

Adecco Recap: Very sloppy game.  We had a small squad today (felt like the good ol' days)  Thanks to Wy'East for a hard fought game.  Mike McCarthy led the scoring with 5 goals, followed by Long, Fitch, and Stockdale with 2 each, and Haller and Levett adding one a piece.  Great game by goalie Timmy Hart turning back numerous shots.
Roger Hodge - M.I.A.

Adecco: McCarthy 5, D. Long 2, Fitch 2, Stockdale 2, Levitt 1, Haller 1

4/8

Blue Collar 10 - Seattle 4

Blue Collar Recap: Second game of the weekend playing Seattle on back to back days.  The score was tied at half 4-4. With some excellent defense in the second half, Collar was able to step it up holding Seattle scoreless after the break despite many man-down situations.

Blue Collar: Painter 4, Contreras 3, Barr 1, O'Hara 1, Snorsky 1

4/7

Wy'East 8 - Steelhead 13

Wy'East Recap: Definitely the first game I've been a part of that there was a danger of getting hailed out. Another good game from Steelhead. We seem to bring out the best in our opponents...

Wy'East: Roberti 4, Kane 1, Rudick 1, Jensen 1, Cleveland 1

4/7

Victoria 1 - Rainier 0

Victoria Recap: Rainier Forfeit

Victoria:

4/7

Tentawon 7 - Eugene 10

Tentawon Recap: Eugene showed up with the most we've ever seen them bring for a roadtrip. We had some key people missing including the majority of our starting defense. We played a tough game but couldn't clear the ball and ran out of gas in the 4th. Rookie Ned Ligenza came up big with a hat trick. Great game Eugene.

Tentawon: Ligenza 3, Fersch 1, Cassidy 1, Brick 1, Fimmano 1

4/7

College Inn 11 - Predators 8

College Inn Recap:

College Inn: Chao 3, Butler 2, Johnston 2, Mariani 2, Anderson 1, McGarity 1

4/7

Predators 8 - College Inn 11

Predators Recap: College Inn played well.  The Predators have the potential to match this team, but will have to be mentally prepared and play four hard quarters.

Predators: Heath 2, Vaneslow 2, Kelly 2, Voas 1, Berrien 1

4/7

Eugene 10 - Tentawon 7

Eugene Recap: We left some of our guns in Eugene, but still managed to have 20 guys in Seattle.  That has to be a first for us!  Tentawon jumped ahead early as we adjusted to their short field and man up team, but we made some changes to tie it by halftime.  During the second half we slowly pulled away to our first victory in Seattle in a long, long, long time.

Eugene: Clemons 4, Stodart 2, Dahl 2, Graff 1, Shepherd 1

4/7

Steelhead 13 - Wy'East 7

Steelhead Recap: Steelhead jumped out to a quick lead against Wy'East and never relinquished it.
Tony Esser led all scorers with 5 goals and Mike Beckman continued to show that he can score playing attack, probably to spite those who had moved him to defense. Goalie Ken Hopkins had another great game, flying all over the field and his crease. Son Shawn Hopkins played as well, creating the first father-son one-two punch in Steelhead history. The Steelhead defense looked great on the field, minimizing what the Wy'East offense could do.

Steelhead: Esser 5, Beckman 4, Wisman 2, Gulczynski 2

4/7

Corillian 10 - Portland 9

Corillian Recap: Huge win for Corillian Lacrosse.  We did the things that make teams win lacrosse games--midfield played great between the boxes, offense played a great control game--including capitalizing on EMO opportunities.  Solid defensive matchups and a good job of making adjustments.  We controlled the faceoffs and survived some scoring runs late in the game by a very good Portland team that hadn't lost at home in over 3 years.

Corillian: Erickson 2, Martin 2, Sauri 2, Vermuelen 1, VanNoy 1, Maestretti 1, Coulter 1

4/7

Seattle 6 - Blue Collar 10

Seattle Recap: Man down is no way to play the fourth quarter of a close game...

Seattle: Simmons 2, Bland 2, Rezoski 1, Fitzgerald 1

4/7

Blue Collar 10 - Seattle 6

Blue Collar Recap: Low scoring first half with Seattle up 2-1 at the break.  Well played second half as Blue Collar was able to put nine goals into the back of the net.

Blue Collar: Painter 3, Contreras 2, Bayly 1, O'Hara 1, Haley 1, Long 1, Farwell 1

4/1

Adecco 12 - Huron 13

Adecco Recap: Tough way to lose...

Adecco: McCarthy 5, Corbit 2, Van Dyke 2, Fitch 2, D.Long 1

4/1

Predators 12 - Tentawon 7

Predators Recap: Good game over all.  The Predators fielded a full squad today.  Tentawon's Greg Fimmano (Cheese) gave them his standard, stellar third quarter performance.  Between Cheese and 'Rambo', we had to play 'smart ball' and listen for footsteps to avoid capitulating.  Hats off to our defense.

Predators: Voas 3, Heath 3, Maslin 2, Bell 1, Kaelberer 1, Lewan 1, Emmons 1

4/1

Tentawon 7 - Predators 12

Tentawon Recap: Couldn't get the groove going until late in the game.  Overall disappointing weekend for us.

Tentawon: Fimmano 3, Cassidy 1, Schwartz 1, Fogg 1, Ligenza 1

4/1

Huron 13 - Adecco 12

Huron Recap: Muddy creases and some standing water made this a tough game for both teams. Adecco played us tough.  They got up early 3-0 before we got things going.  The entire game was back and forth.  With two minutes left we were trailing by a goal.  With two tough rides we were able to tie and go ahead for good.  Man that was a tough game and we respect Adecco and their skills as should the rest of the league.  See you guys at PNLA.

Huron: Mackey 5, Showers 2, Grey 2, Pozorski 1, Upchurch 1, Alexander 1, Gregerson 1

Victoria 11 - Seattle 4

Victoria Recap: Game on Saturday was great even though Seattle could only travel with 13 players. Was disappointed that we didn't play the exhibition game on Sunday.

Victoria: Cable 3, Dennett, Tim 2, Blackwell 1, Christiaens 2, Cappello 1, McKay 1, Sutton, D 1

3/31

Rainier 9 - Blue Collar 12

Rainier Recap: A well played game by both team. We missed several (6 +) man-up opporutnities and our share of unforced errors. But overall not bad for a team who just met on the Metro bus on the way to the game.

Rainier: Sandgrathe 1, Burke 1, Bender 2, Ehrnman 2, Monroe 2, Packard 1

3/31

Tentawon 6 - Adecco 9

Tentawon Recap: Ugly, ugly game for us.  Jerry's kids could have played better.

Tentawon: Dale 1, Fersch 1, Cassidy 2, Woodson 1, Thomas 1

3/31

Seattle 4 - Victoria 11

Seattle Recap: We were game, but we had a low turnout and battled ourselves a lot, throwing the ball away to a very good transition team.  Cyrus Krohn again turned in a nice game in net, and we had moments, but shot ourselves in the foot and were unable to sustain anything.  We'll look forward to the rematch in a few weeks.

Seattle: Birkmire 2, Ostrander 1, Woo 1

3/31

Blue Collar 12 - Rainier 9

Blue Collar Recap: Well played game with Rainier - BC down by 1 at half but by eliminating some penalties and mistakes in the 3rd and 4th quarter we were able to pull it together.

Blue Collar: Painter 3, Long 3, Haley 1, Bayly 1, Martens 1, Dyer 1, Dupuis 1, Barr 1

Huron Recap: Good game Eugene.:)

Huron: Mackey 4, Swain 4, Grey 2

Eugene 13 - Huron 9

Eugene Recap: The Battle of the Unbeatens!!!  Huron traveled light, so after going ahead 2 in the early going, we decided to get on the bad side of the officials and compound  every other penalty with another for unsportmanlike behavior.  Huron took full advantage and popped at  least one in with their extra man/men.  We learned to shut our mouths by halftime, but it still seemed that for every goal we put in, Huron would raise us 2, and they enjoyed a 3 goal advantage at the end of the third. It looked grim for Eugene, but after a rousing speech by Tom Foster, the fourth quarter was all us, as we scored 8 goals as Huron ran out of gas.  We will have to see how our perfect record fares in the far north next weekend.

Eugene: Strening 3, Kujawski 1, Shepherd 2, Nyfeler 1, Clemons 2, Bloom 1, Dahl 2, Dixon 1

Adecco 8 - Steelhead 16

Adecco Recap: Well, we only had 10 guys.  What else is new? A special thanks to Ryan Rowe from Linfield who made his 2001 club season debut after playing for Sauri all summer.  We played hard, took some injuries, and battled though it.  Great game, Great drink up.  Steelhead deserves a lot of credit and it's always worth the trip.

Adecco: Fitch 1, Holler 1, McCarthy 6

3/25

Seattle 10 - Corillian 7

Seattle Recap: A strong first half got us out to an 8-2 halftime lead. Corillian slowed the game down in the second half with a patient ball control attack and slowly crept back into the game, but they were unable to get all the way back as Cyrus Krohn again was big in goal.  Scott Birkmire netted the clincher with a few minutes to go.

Seattle: Birkmire 3, Ostrander 3, Fitzgerald 2, Low 1, Bach 1

3/25

Portland 11 - Blue Collar 7

Portland Recap: Hard fought battle by both sides.  Joe O'Donnell reinforced his MVP recognition by numerable point blank saves on the Collar's attack.  Offensively, Portland was paced by D. Brostek's 5 goals.  Portland's bitter summer was evidenced by an unprecedented amount penalties throughout the game.  The Collar travelled well and made a strong comeback in the final minutes to get close but ran out of time to make it closer.

Portland: Brostek 5, Lardy 2, Higgins 2, Penhale 1, Guy 1

Tentawon 13 - Steelhead 11(OT)

Tentawon Recap: Best game of the year. Steelhead took a 6-3 halftime lead but we made some adjustments in the 2nd half and played well at all aspects of the game.  Rookie Chase Dale came up big with 4 goals while John Cassidy put away 3.  Greg Wojcicki sealed the overtime win and we got an insurance goal by Dale. Good game Steelhead!

Tentawon: Dale 4, Cassidy 3, Brick 2, Fersch 1, Fogg 1, Woodson 1, Wojcicki 1

3/18

Wy'East 6 - Tentawon 9

Wy'East Recap: Lots of moaning, swearing and listlessness between periods. This game was a scheduling coup and probably our best chance to bring home a victory against a good team. Skip "Youth Medium" Arnold" was notably absent. But hey, NEW JERSEYS! This was a good competitive game, there's no reason that comes to mind why Tentawon may have seemed a step slower and more willing to play down to our speed. I think both teams were content to drop back into their four corners offenses and thank goodness for that. We picked up a couple more bodies and made a game of it. I could blame this game on the refs for making us play full 20 min periods, on the new white jerseys, Youth Medium's absence, or County Cork Ireland, but I think I'll blame on the fact that we played a better team.

As a side note, some things are just not meant to be seen. None shall speak of this matter again. Please. Don't ask.

Wy'East: Kane  2, Cleveland 2, Turley 1, Posner 1

3/18

Steelhead 14 - Predators 13

Steelhead Recap: Steelhead swept the weekend with a win over the Predators. Steelhead led for most of the game but was unable to put away the Predators. Steelhead brought a balanced offense with 8 players scoring.

Steelhead: Esser 3, Green 2, Mills 2, Lent 2, Shanahan 2, Gulczynski 1, Brekke 1, Wisman 1

3/18

Tentawon 9 - Wy'East 6

Tentawon Recap: 10:00am Sunday game the day after Sat. Patrick's Day??? What were we thinking?  We were short players but WyEast was shorter.  This was an ugly game for us but we managed to win it somehow.  Eric Woodson came up big with a hat trick while Phil "Give me the Pill" Rezek, Shawn Stern and Greg Wojcicki had their first goals of the year.

Tentawon: Woodson 3, Rezek 1, Fogg 1, Cassidy 1, Fimmano 1, Stern 1, Wojcicki 1

3/18

Predators 13 - Steelhead 14

Predators Recap: Very close game.  The lead traded hands many times.  It was exciting right to the end.  The Predators had the ball and a last second shot attempt for the tie.  Unfortunately for the Predators, the shot didn't fall.  It was lots of fun though... Probably the cleanest game I've every played (against Steelhead).  St. Patty's probably had something to do with it.

Predators: Berrien 2, Maslin 1, Emmons 1, Voas 3, Heath 3, Smullen 3

3/18

Huron 17 - College Inn 10

Huron Recap: Thank goodness for Field Turf, otherwise the Seattle rain could of made this game a mess.  A great game for us as we were able to maitain a good lead throughout.  Our defense did well in getting the ball up the offensive half for some great opportunities.  Once again we were able to capitalize on our man-up situations.  Both Aaron Swain and Lawerence Mackey had great games which resulted in enough gaols to win.  College Inn is a great team that we are sure will provide a great rematch in May.  Thanks and good luck this season.

Huron: Swain 6, Mackey 4, Upchurch 2, Pozorski 2, Showers 1, Gregerson 1, Grey 1

College Inn: Johnston 3, Mariani 2, McGarity 2, Bergin 1, Miller 1, Wright 1

3/17

Wy'East 4 - Steelhead 16

Wy'East Recap: Our turnout was pretty pathetic. So were are results. We traveled with eleven and without a goalie. Steelhead had a great turnout and played extremely well.  I wish I could blame Chip (Youth Medium) Arnold's softball cleats but game fundamentals are important also. Thanks for the game, it's always a good trip and we'll give you a better game in two weeks.

Wy'East: Jensen 1, Cleveland 2, Kane 1

3/17

Steelhead 16 - Wy'East 4

Steelhead Recap: Steelhead had a nice win against Wy'East. Steelhead put in a consistent effort through all four quarters and was able to get a good offensive rhythm going while the defense shut down Wy'East.

Steelhead: Esser 5, Mills 4, Brekke 2, Lent 2, Wisman 2, Graves 1

Tentawon 1 - Adecco 0

Tentawon Recap: Unfortunate forfeit.

3/11

Seattle 17 - Rainier 4

Seattle Recap: The first quarter and a half was very competitive, but then Seattle's depth began to show.  A three-goal spurt to close the second quarter made it 8-4 at halftime.  Cyrus Krohn stepped in when Hugh Barber went out and pitched a shutout in the second half as we were able to wear down a short-handed but very game Rainier squad.

Seattle: Bland 4, Birkmire 3, Low 2, Rezoski 2, Bissell 2, Simmons 1, Woo 1, Fitzgerald 1, Reith 1

Rainier 4 - Seattle 17

Rainier Recap:

Rainier: Zack Holiday 1, Chris Ohta 2, Bill Monroe 1

3/11

Huron 13 - Adecco 2

Huron Recap: With the Addecco staying in the big city, we got a late start.  I think we practiced ourselves out while waiting for them to show.  In the first quarter it showed as we got twelve shots on goal that literally half hit the pipes, yet the 1st quater ended 1-0 Addecco leading.  We finally got thing moving again and were able to hold the ball on offense again for extended periods of time.  With Mike Showers winning all but two face off's, we had plenty of opportunities.  The Addecco goalie did make some great saves and kept our scoring down.  The one man reffing crew did a great job by himself.  We will see Addecco in a few weeks, thanks for the game and hanging at the drink-up.

Huron: Pozorski 3, Mackey 3, Koransky 3, Grey 2, Upchurch 1, Showers 1

3/11

Adecco 2 - Huron 13

Adecco Recap: Having a Sunday morning game after drinking, chasing after 50 year-old gypsies, and using beer bottles as hand grenades... not good. We actually were up 1-0 early in the second quarter.  The defense was stiffling.  After that, fatigue set in and Huron took over.  Again, we played with a lot of heart.  Keep it up.  Darryl's new nickname should be 'enforcer' when he goes to middie...  Thanks Huron for the post game get-together even if there was a little delay.  No coors light, but the lite rail worked well as a replacement.

Adecco: Stockdale 1, McCarthy 1

3/11

Corillian 11 - College Inn 3

Corillian Recap: This game was played as part of the HS Jamboree. Some 200 people turned out early for the game. College Inn played solid ball, especially Kevin in Goal and Mac at the midfield ...Corillian is still pretty rusty, the new uniforms looked sharp, but the team still needs some work before the season starts.

College Inn: Johnston 3

3/10

Adecco 5 - College Inn 15

Adecco Recap: On the road... short crew.  2 D-sticks out (Including one to the dreaded injury to the inguinal ligament in the groin).  Kept it close at half, only down 6-3, but ran out of gas in second half.  Becoming a familiar theme early in the season.  We'll keep at it though.  Thanks for a good game College Inn.

Adecco: Stockdale 1, Vandehey 1, Fitch 1, McCarthy 1

Predators 8 - Tentawon 10

Predators Recap: Yucky field, yucky turnout, yucky result...

Predators: Heath 2, Maslin 2, Emmons 1, Smullen 2, Torrance 1

3/10

Eugene 7 - Wy'East 3

Eugene Recap: We struggled a bit on offense with some of our big guns sitting in Eugene, but what we had applied the pressure as we controlled the ball 75% of the time.  Unfortunatly for us, most of that pressure was on "Stinky" Stevens left foot, as he had some great saves.  On the defensive end, we put the clamps on, and Wy'East's only goals came with one and two man advantages.  We really liked the drink up at O'Malley's, as it was a fine place with some great hosts.  Thank you Wy'East!

Eugene: Benazzi 2, Weiss 1, Stodart 1, Dahl 2, Clemons 1

3/10

Wy'East 3 - Eugene 7

Wy'East Recap: Eugene put together a very good game and managed to finish on its opportunities doday. They have a patient half-field offense that prevailed despite a strong defensive effort from Wy'East. Meanwhile, Wy'East is fast proving to be the league leader in missed or blown uncontested shots. Someone needs to pull our attack aside and tell them points aren't scored by hitting the goalie smack in the chest protector. Casey's 2 quick 2nd quarter EMO goals made things competitive, and we'd like to think the game was more even than it probably was.

Wy'East: Cleveland 2, Kane 1

3/10

Huron 17 - Steelhead 15

Huron Recap: First game at our fourth home field in three years.  Steelhead was able to take advantage early and get up 4-1 before we could get things rolling again.  The game was pretty close throughout.  We were able to extend our lead in the fourth quarter to as many as five goals, but Steelhead filled up the net late to make this game quite a scare at the end.  We did benefit from some man-up situations, but that is what you are supposed to do when you have more men on the field.  Gary turned away a lot of our shots.  Steelhead has a good team, and will be tough throughout the year.  They can simply play lax.  See you guys in May.

Huron: Pozorski 3, Alexander 2, Mackey 3, Swain 5, Upchurch 1, Snyder 1, Koransky 2

3/10

Tentawon 11 - Predators 8

Tentawon Recap: Hats off to a very good but very short Predator squad.  We jumped to a quick 5 goal lead in the 1st but the Predators fought back and led the game in the 3rd.  We did a gut check in the 4th and took advantage of our numbers and out hussled them for an 11-8 win.

Tentawon: Fimmano 3, Cassidy 2, Brick 2, Thomas 1, Fogg 1, Dale 1, Fersch 1

College Inn: Mariani 5, Johnston 4, Butler 3, Anderson 2, Daniels 1

Steelhead 15 - Huron 17

Steelhead Recap: Steelhead opened their season against a tough Huron team.  Huron has been practicing since January and it shows.  The Steelhead actually jumped out to the early lead by controlling the ball and getting solid opportunities on offense.  Huron came roaring back by playing very well in transition and creating alot of fastbreaks.  This went on for much of the game, when the Steelhead slowed down and played ball control we were able to control the game, when we didn't the many fast legs of Huron put the ball in the cage.  We were able to mount a pretty good comeback in the fourth quarter but were killed by some questionable officiating that put us man-down and two-down for much of the second half.  (note to self:  bi***ing at the ref never pays off.) Huron is an offensive power that made the most of their opportunities including, converting on more than 75% of their man-up opportunities.  Thanks guys for a great game.

Steelhead: Wisman 5, Mills 4, Esser 2, Lendt 2, ? 1, Shananhan 1

3/4

Eugene 20 - Adecco 9

Eugene Recap: Two of our long sticks and several other players from the day before decided to take Multanomah lightly and not show up.  Big mistake, as they were within 4 at the start of the 4th.  Hats off to Multanomah's Dave Holler for figuring out our man down and recording his first hat trick.  Despite this, our offense was able to figure things out and crank in 19 to seal our third win of the season.  Because Multanomah were such good sports, we treated them to pizza and Coors light at their request.

Eugene: Graff 5, Strening 3, Dusseau 4, Weiss 1, Stodart 1, Dahl 3, Clemmons 3

3/4

Predators 10 - Huron 13

Predators Recap: Good hustle on Huron's part.  They deserved it.  We'd like to have this one back.  We'll have to make the trip and earn it to even the season.

Predators: Kelly 5, Heath 2, Voas 1, Maslin 1, Kaelberer 1

3/4

Adecco 9 - Eugene 20

Adecco Recap: We did not travel well, showing up with only 13 players.  After having so many subs last week and becoming confused, we decided to make some cuts.   Felt like the good ol' days.  We hung very tough, down 13-8 entering the 4th quarter where we ran out of gas.  Congrats to both Dave Haller and Mike McCarthy who both had hat tricks.  Haller was more excited than a puppy with two peters.  Darryl Long added 2 goals including an exhilerating empty netter, and Rob Wilkerson (known as Rob ??? on the scoring list) chipped in with one.  Get this, we have an attackman miss the game because he had to taste food for his wedding.  What a pansy.  Great effort by everyone.  We'll get there.  Thanks Eugene for the pizza and beer...... oh, Tom.... the streak is finally over.
P.S.  Roger Hodge is STILL pimpin' in Vegas

Adecco: Haller 3, McCarthy 3, D. Long 2, Wilkerson 1,

3/4

Huron 13 - Predators 10

Huron Recap: Nice early game (too early) at Portland State complex.  Tough game from the get go.  Predators are truly one of the best teams in our league and with new recruit's look to have gotten even better this year.  I think the game on Saturday helped us as we stayed calm even though we fell behind a few times during the game.  Predators have a very patient offense and our D and Toth steeped it up to match the challenge.  After the attack did most of the scoring yesterday, Aaron Swain decided to give the middies some input to the scoring opportunities as he notched 8 goals.  The shut off defense that the Predators launched on us allowed us to really spread them out and limit the slides which opened up some much needed goals.  The game was tied at 10-10 with about 7 minutes left when a much needed timeout swayed the momentum back our way.  Peter Snyder showed why he is versatile with the long pole as he moved down and shut down some late opportunities for Portland.  Good game and that was fun to be a part of.  See you the last game of the regular season.

Huron: Swain 8, Mackey 3, Upchurch 1, Alexander 1

3/4

Wy'East 6 - Tentawon 10

Wy'East Recap: Things went a little better for Wy'East today as we remembered some of the fundamentals of the game like passing, catching, and defense. Jon Stevens continues to carry our defense from in the cage. Hopefully we can step up and make his job easier as the season goes on. Despite a low turnout and the lingering aftereffects of Chip's birthday party we were able to move the ball to our end of the field and stay in the game until the 4th. Great game, Tentawon, see you in a couple weeks.

Wy'East: Cleveland 3, Stearns 3

3/4

Tentawon 10 - Wy'East 6

Tentawon Recap: A better game than the day before but still very close.  Tied going into the 4th but we took advantage of some man-up situations.

Tentawon: Fimmano 3, Ligenza 2, Fogg 1, Dale 1, Woodson 1, Folgedalen 1, Cassidy 1

3/3

Eugene 9 - Tentawon 2

Eugene Recap: Hats off to Tentawon for bringing 17 guys down to Eugene and John Mulky for starting off his farewell tour with at least 30 terrific saves.  With any other goalie in the net, we probably would have doubled our score, as we had the ball on offense 85% of the time.  Our defense dominated the day, holding Tentawon to only  one fast break and one man up goal.  Contrary to Mr. Brick's comments, we have no members of the University of Oregon Lacrosse team on our squad.

Eugene: Benazzi 1, Bloom 1, Silvagio 1, Clemmons 1, Kujawski 2, Foster 1, Strening 2

3/3

Huron 16 - Wy'East 5

Huron Recap: If you could get past the smell of the dog suprises, the field was in good shape.  The sun even made an appearance.  Huron traveled well and had our first test with version 2001.  Our practice showed as we even made some catches and feeds to go up 6-1 in the first quarter.  We slowed a bit the rest of the way, but our defense did not as they were relentless in ragging WyEast's offense.  Welcoming back Thom O'Rouke to the league was a pleasure and new addition Scott Schuler had a solid game too.  The combination of hard rides by the attack, midfield coming up and moving the ball and Toth starting off well made for a good game for us.  WyEast is a class team and showed signs of brilliance along with a stellar game by their goalie who made the score lower than is should have been.
Thanks for the beers and we will see you in April.

Huron: Mackey 6, Alexander 2, Koransky 2, Upchurch 1, Swain 2, Pozorski 2, Snyder 1

3/3

Wy'East 5 - Huron 16

Wy'East Recap: It was a beautiful day for early March but Wy'East managed to ugly it up with some bad lacrosse. Athleticism at the midfield and disciplined ball movement on attack were too much for us as Huron pretty much put on a clinic. One bright point for Wy'East ironically was the play of goalie Jon Stevens who made numerous spectacular saves despite the deluge of uncontested shots. Thanks for the good game, and see you guys next month.

Special thanks to Jamie DeMeritt for helping with the postgame spread at the Gasthaus.

Wy'East: Rudick 2, Cleveland 1, Noto 1, Blount 1

Tentawon 2 - Eugene 9

Tentawon Recap: Years of courting the UofO guys has finally paid off for Eugene.  They had young, fast and talented players at every position.  We looked and played like this was our first game but we will return the favor to Eugene next month.  Track town pizza is still the best!!

Eugene 9 - Adecco 5

Eugene Recap: 50 degrees and sunny!!  We showed up with a skeleton crew and were R-U-S-T-Y, but were able to run our offense and shoot when our passes were on.  Balanced scoring from our front line was overshadowed by the fact that 2 of our D-men scored!  A relatively clean game except for a cheap shot at Tom Foster (he's 55 this year folks!)  Multanomah upheld their tradition of buying us crappy beer at the drink up, so no microbrew for them in Eugene.

Eugene: Shepherd 2, Clemmons 2, Graff 1, Dahl 1, Silvagio 1, Nagaski 1, Foster 1

2/24

Adecco 5 - Eugene 9

Adecco Recap: We opened up our season with a tough loss to Eugene, 9-5.  Due to it being the first game of the year, there was a lot of rust on the field.  Plus, this is the first time in a yeat where we've had subs on the sidelines, so we are learning how to adjust.  Scott Vandehey led the offensive juggernaut with two goals, folled by Darrl Long, Mike McCarthy and Rob (Someone let me know his last name) who each had 1.  It was a pretty solid defensive effort and Tim Hart turned back numerous shots in a strong effort.  We are looking forward to returning the favor against Eugene this upcoming Sunday in their neck of the woods....

Adecco: Vandehey 2, Long 1, McCarthy 1, Wilkerson 1
