Last Updated: 05/31/00 |
| Date | Score | Recap: | Scoring |
| 5/21 | Victoria 20 - Seattle 6 | Victoria: Pollock 2, Bell 2, Buchanan 3, Dennett, Tim 2, Tasko 4, Verhagen 3, Dillon 3, Dennett, Terry 1 | |
| 5/21 | Steelhead 11 - College Inn 7 | Steelhead: With first place on the line both teams came in ready for battle, and a battle it was. This was an aggressive hard fought game that included the Steelhead playing three men down. It was a back and forth one goal game until the 'head stepped up in the fourth quarter and pulled away. Without a bunch of amazing saves by keeper Gary Gibb, it wouldn't even have been a game. We look forward to seeing you guys in two weeks for the ""second season"". College Inn: Far greater than the day's loss to Steelhead will be the loss of the true heart and soul of the College Inn Pub Lacrosse team - Jay Moulton. After 20 years on the team, Jay is moving to California after the season ends and will be dearly missed by everyone. College Inn Pub and the league are losing one of the greatest to play lacrosse in the Pacific Northwest. | Steelhead: Esser 3, Massiglia 2, Brekke 2, Mills 2, Wisman 1, ?
1 College Inn: Johnston 5, Mariani 1, Moulton 1 |
| 5/21 | Predators 10 - Tentawon 6 | Tentawon: This was a battle from the opening faceoff as the winner would go to the championships and the loser would go home. It came down to young legs vs old legs and the youngins wore us down. Tentawon finishes the season at .500 with a 7-7 record. See ya next year!! | Tentawon: Fimmano 3, Fersch 2, Williams 1 |
| 5/21 | Huron 17 - WyEast 6 | Huron: Needing a win to put us in position for a very sucessful season we faced the last team to beat us this year. Lawrence Mackey took the opportunity to solidify his second scoring title in as many years. Our team had a good time playing well on both ends. We met our goals as a team by finishing 11-3 this year. We improved our league positioning once more and now look forward to playing playoff weekend in Seattle. Good season guys. | Huron: Mackey 7, Upchurch 3, Koransky 2, Gregerson 1, McGuire 1, Pozorski 1, Kelly 1, Shane 1 |
| 5/20 | Victoria 15 - Seattle 10 | Victoria: Dennett, Tim 2, Page 1, Hayes 2, Christiaens 2, Tasko 3, Verhagen 1, Sebestyen 3, Dennett, Terry 1 | |
| 5/20 | Eugene 13 - WyEast 7 | Eugene: Back in the day, Brent Sohoo came up with the idea that whoever won the last game of the season between Wy'East and Eugene, would take home the Willamette Cup. Kinda like the Stanley cup, but smaller. Well this was the game for the cup, and we were pumped. We were also worried, because although we came out on top the two times we played them earlier this season, we thought three times might be the charm for Wy'East. Hearing that they beat Huron on the road, didn't help. This Wy'East team however, was a conglomeration squad with the Adecco gents, and had just finished playing Tentawon. We took advantage and Mark Graff came out of his slump and doubled his season goal production in front of his whole family. We had our best season in years with 5 wins, but so did everyone else, so no playoffs for us...maybe next year. | Eugene: Graff 4, Sheperd 3, Foster 2, Dahl 2, Stoddard 1, Clemons 1 |
| 5/20 | Blue Collar 12 - Rainier 6 | Blue Collar: Greene 4, Bissell 3, Haley 1, Snorsky 1, Gilbert 1,
Waterman 1, Contreras 1 Rainier: Sandgathe 2, Long 2, Ernham 1, Bender 1 |
|
| 5/20 | Tentawon 11 - Adecco 3 | Tentawon: Beautiful day in Portland and a must-win game for Tentawon. Adecco had zero players on the bench but they still played their hearts out. Kyle Williams came up big with a hat trick. Hang in there Adecco... | Tentawon: Williams 3, Fimmano 2, Cassidy 2, Fersch 1, Trenkamp 1, Horan 1, Brick 1 |
| 5/20 | Huron 13 - Predators 10 | Huron: The roles were reversed on Saturday. We traveled with 14 players and the Predators had a full bench. Playing for their playoff lives, the were able to jump ahead of us 7-2 before we started scoring. A goal before half cut the lead to 4. The second half we dug deep and scored 10 goals, eleven if you count the own goal, to win a crucial game for us. If we were going to be light, we brought the right players to be light with. The middies worked very hard throughout the game and Toth and the D were stellar in the second half only allowing two goals scored by the opposition. These guys are tough to beat, but with a biased crowd of Tentawon players pulling for us we persevered. | Huron: Gregersen 4, Mackey 2, Koransky 2, Pozorski 2, McGuire 1, Alexander 1, Erickson 1 |
| 5/20 | Portland 11 - Redhook 8 | Redhook: It is very hard to beat Portland with no subs....Mighty Redhook held our own...actually lead 6-2, but simply ran out of gas...looking forward to the rematch in the playoffs... | |
| 5/14 | Victoria 13 - Portland 12 | Victoria: Tasko 3, Hayes 1, Greg 2, Verhagen 2, Pollock 1, Bell 1, Buchanan 3 | |
| 5/14 | Redhook 13 - Blue Collar 8 | Redhook: Best game of the year by the Redhook....We lead from the beginning to end...despite some aggresive play by Collar. Brian Erickson and Tim Morris came up huge... Blue Collar: Worst game in Blue Collar history.... | Blue Collar: Painter 3, Contreras 2, Mechura 2, O'Hara 1 |
| 5/13 | Predators 14 - WyEast 9 | Predators: Its always a pleasure to play against our hometown non-rival. Wy'East had some good sticks to help make this a fast paced game. Unfortunately, the Predators spent half the day in the penalty box, allowing Wy'East too many opportunities to stay in the game. Despite the yellow flags, this was a enjoyable game to watch and play. WyEast: This will definatly be one of those match ups we are going to enjoy as the years go by. A good game which was more competitve than the score indicates although the Predators were pretty much in control throughout the second half. Good job guys and good luck the rest of the season. | Predators: Heath 4, Voas 3, Bartow 2, Berrien 2, Steller 2,
Maslin 1 WyEast: Stearns 4, Rudick 2, Barter 1, Jensen 1, Kane 1 |
| 5/13 | Portland 7 - Victoria 3 | Victoria: Verhagen 1, Greg 1, Colin 1 | |
| 5/13 | Blue Collar 12 - Victoria 6 | Victoria: Pollock 1, Bell 2, Hayes 2, Barr 1 Blue Collar: Contreras 3, Lake 2, Gilbert 2, Bissell 2, O'Hara 1, Kelly 1, Mechura 1 |
|
| 5/13 | Huron 10 - Steelhead 9 | Huron: Nice day for a game. Playing short, the two teams fought
back and forth most of the day. Both teams rode hard and capitalized on eachothers
mistakes. Lawrence had a big game for us scoring half of our goals. There is little doubt
we will be playing these guys yet once more before it is all said and done. Steelhead: The steelhead almost came back to beat huron in what turned out, not entirely unexpectedly, to be a very aggresive game. They played well. I feel sorry for the ref who had to do this game all by himself. Not well thought out. |
Huron: Mackey 5, Gregerson 2, Pozorski 1, Upchurch 1, Koransky 1 Steelhead: Brekke 3, Massiglia 2, Wisman 2, Lendt 1, Esser 1 |
| 5/13 | Tentawon 7 - College Inn 6 (OT) | Tentawon: This was a must win for us to stay in the playoff running so we came ready to play. College Inn has always been the team to beat and they fought us tough the whole way, forcing us to pull off the come from behind win in overtime. "Twinkie the Kid" Fersch came up big with a hat trick eventhough he was defended by big Dan Travers. Our defense was stellar again, holding the Pub to 6 goals and getting a nice assist from Ian "Super Fly" Tolmie. Rookie Eric "Sniper" Woodson sealed the win with a rocket double piper goal. The Pub won the first boat race but again, Tentawon came back in style to win the last boat race when they pulled out their secret weapon, John Mulkey. | Tentawon: Fersch 3, Fimmano 2, Cassidy 1, Woodson 1 College Inn: Mariani 2, Anderson 1, Chao 1, Johnston 1, Miller 1 |
| 5/7 | Predators 16 - Adecco 1 | Predators: Good game... bad beer. We'll make it up to Adecco next time. | Predators: Maslin 4, Bartow 4, Stellar 2, Vaneslow 2, Heath 1, Berrien 3 |
| 5/7 | Blue Collar 7 - Victoria 8 | Blue Collar: Non-league game after a late night in Victoria. | Blue Collar: Haley 2, O'Hara 1, Burke 1, Greene 1, Lake 2 Victoria: Sundher 1, O'Neill 2, Cooke 3, Tasko 1, Marshall 1 |
| 5/7 | Portland 1 - Rainier 0 | Rainier Forfeit | |
| 5/6 | Portland 1 - Rainier 0 | Rainier Forfeit | |
| 5/6 | Seattle 10 - Redhook 6 | Redhook: Keep coming up short! | Redhook: Cone 3 |
| 5/6 | Blue Collar 14 - Victoria 4 | Blue Collar: Good game eh? | Blue Collar: Lake 6, Snorsky 2, O'hara 3, Greene 2, Bissell 1 Victoria: Pollock 1, O'Neill 1, Hayes 1, Dennett, Terry 1 |
| 5/6 | WyEast 11 - Adecco 2 | WyEast: Wy'East maintained the coveted WY-NOMA cup with a decisive win over a short handed Adecco squad. Taking advantage of a fairly deep bench on our side, Wy'East kept the pace up and pressure on all day. Hats off to Adecco's keeper who was under the gun for most of the day but came up with a number of huge close in stops throughout the game. Wy'East, riding a three game win streak, hopes to keep it going with a much anticipated rematch vs. the Predators this weekend. | WyEast: Rudick 3, Fischer 3, SooHoo 1, Jensen 1, Burke 1, Stearns 1, Arnold 1 |
| 5/6 | Steelhead 12 - Tentawon 6 | Tentawon: Grassbowl 2000(it's not what you think)-Large clumps of freshly cut grass gave new meaning to the ""hidden ball trick"". Steelhead showed up early and was ready to play while our team was still getting dressed just before the starting whistle. They jumped to a quick 6-1 lead in the first which made the difference in the game. It was a 6-5 game after the first and after we had warmed up. Maybe everyone will be early next week. Cheese Fimmano was the lone bright spot on our offense as he came away with 5 goals. Steelhead: In an attempt to get our ""stuff"" together the Steelhead showed up early and got a good long warm-up in. It worked, we jumped out to an big early lead with good team play all around. Tentawon was a little thin and didn't have the legs to be able to mount a comeback. its always fun playing these guys and this weekend was no exception. | Tentawon: Fimmano 5, Woodson 1 Steelhead: Mills 2, Brekke 3, Lendt 2, Massiglia 1, Whitaker 1, Byrd 1, Esser 2, |
| 5/6 | Huron 9 - College Inn 8 | Huron: College Inn traveled light to Tacoma, but didn't let that stand in the way of getting a 6-0 lead. Finally Mackey got us started with a goal which led to a 9-2 run for the rest of the game. Mike Showers had a hat-trick and Donny Pozorski stepped his game up to bring us back to life. Mackey scored once more with the eventual game winner. After the slow start our defense threw up a wall that allowed us to creep back in and eventually win. Great game boys. | College Inn: Chao 2, Mariani 2, Anderson 1, Holmes 1, Johnston
1, Murphy 1 Huron: Showers 3, Mackey 2, Alexander 1, McGuire 1, Pozorski 2 |
| 4/22 | Huron 15 - Steelhead 7 | Huron: After our futile attempt to confuse Steelhead by changing location and game time several time we were forced to play them. We benefited from some great play from our defense and some miss timed drops by Steelhead. Strong showing by Toth and the middies allowed us plenty of offensive opportunities that we were able to finish. Our team bounced back nicely after the embarassment last weekend. We are sure the game in May against Steelhead will be another tough one. Steelhead: They showed up to play, we didn't. They taught us a lesson that I hope we pick up on. | Huron:
Dworczyk 1, Swain 1, Pozorski 2, Upchurch 4, Mackey 2, Koransky 2,
Alexander 2, Showers 1 Steelhead: Wisman 1, Lendt 2, Brekke 2, Mills 1, Tuttle 1 |
| 4/22 | Blue Collar 11 - Seattle 9 | Blue Collar: Another close game with Seattle for the second straight weekend. Believe it or not, Seattle actually threw a drink-up and dished out $280.00, only minimal patio furniture casualties this year. | Blue Collar: Mechura 4, Contreras 2, Barr 1, Snorsky 1, Bissell 1, Haley 1, Droppleman 1 |
| 4/22 | Redhook 7 - Rainier 6 | Redhook: Solid game by both squads! Back and forth the whole game, Redhook managed to finish a game...stopped the 4 game loss streak. | Rainier: Bender 1, Ohta 1, B Fortier 1, Terpening 1, Long 2 |
| 4/16 | Portland 17 - Seattle 7 | Portland: Kroger 6, Lardy 3, Haendler 1, Brendan 2, Thornby 1, Anderson 2, Broskek 2 | |
| 4/16 | Blue Collar 14 - Redhook 7 | Redhook: Worst game in Redhook history.... | Blue Collar: Painter 4, Mechura 2, Contreras 2, Greene 2, Haley 1, Sander 1, Snorsky 1, Gilbert 1 |
| 4/16 | College Inn 1 - Adecco 0 | Win by forfeit. | |
| 4/16 | WyEast 11 - Huron 6 | Huron: Whoa. You cannot give a team a 5-0 first quarter and expect to win. We came out flat and Wy'east did not. They out played us today and deserved to win. That better be a wake-up call to us or we maybe done for the season. WyEast: It was just one of those days. Every bounce, loose ball and call seemed to go our way. Another game with a short bench, the Wy'east offense did a great job of moving the ball, looking for help and taking some great shots. On the other end our defense played a strong team D, communicating, helping out, sliding well and holding off the Huron shooters. We took a 9 - 1 lead into the fourth only to watch Huron roll off 3 quick goals off some great face off work, and fast breaks. We held on and were able to answer with some late insurance goals to take the win. Knowing Huron like we do, I think it's safe to say we caught them on an off day and we'll see a different team when they come to Portland to end the regular season. | Huron:
Mackey 1, Upchurch 1, McGuire 1, Hagland 1, Showers 1, Pozorski 1 WyEast: Jensen 1, Ondica 2, Kane 3, Chris 3, Cleveland 2 |
| 4/15 | Blue Collar 11 - Seattle 10(OT) | Blue Collar: 2OT - great comeback by Seattle who was down by 5 at one point. Game goes to sudden death and the Collar takes it in a man-up situation. | Blue Collar: Painter 4, Mechura 2, Bissell 2, Greene 2, Haley 1 |
| 4/15 | College Inn 8 - WyEast 6 | WyEast: A great day at the Queen Anne bowl and a great game as well. After spotting CI a three or four goal lead, we fought our way back to make it 6-6 going into the fourth. It stayed that way for the first ten minutes of the quarter as each team looked for the go ahead goal. CI got that goal and a couple more for insurance as a short Wy'east bench finally ran out of steam and CI took advantage with some great feeds and well placed quick stick goals. We can however take some solice in the fact that we won the boat race at the drink up after the game. Great job College Inn, enjoyed the game, we look forward to seeing you guys again PNLA. | College
Inn: Chao 2, Miller 2, Anderson 1, Butler 1, Gacayan 1, Mariani 1 WyEast: Wall 2, Ondica 2, Kane 1, Cleveland 1 |
| 4/15 | Predators 12 - Eugene 9 | Predators: Once again, one must ask....""Where's the beef?"". Only a team rep (and maybe the goalie too) knows how much it hurts when you don't get the bodies that made all those promises early in the season. Eugene struggled before the game even started. Unable to locate their goalie, Eugene resurrected their original goalie (after a short delay whilst he ran home and grabbed his old stick from the tool shed). Eugene's tactics worked in the early quarters as the Predator's were lulled into a false sense of security. Eugene put some goals in early taking advantage of some outstanding goal tending from the 'Resurrection' (Mark..last name unknown). The Predators finally snapped out of it and put some goals in during the 2nd and 3rd quarters. Eugene made a run in the fourth, but it was too little, too late.. The Predators went home with a victory improving their record to above .500 for the first time this season. Eugene: Our hopes at getting even with the Predators were dashed from the start when we had even less players at home than we did on the road! We didn't even have a goalie! Some of our top players continued their holdout, but this is B league and we do our best. Much to our surprise, we put 2 to start things off, and were down only one at half. The video revealed that we should have been tied, but it wouldn't have changed the outcome as most of our shooters had hattricks when it came to hitting the pipe. We stuck in this one, but in the end the the superior Predator numbers and youth took over. I was wrong last week, only a third of their team is under 21. | Predators:
Berrien 3, Emmons 2, Bell 2, Maslin 2, Vaneslow 1, Wheaton 1, DeJager 1 Eugene: Dahl 4, Clemons 2, Shepherd 3 |
| 4/15 | Tentawon 1 - Adecco 0 | Tentawon: Win by unfortunate forfeit. | |
| 4/15 | Portland 10 - Redhook 9 | Redhook: As usual...gave them the first half, won the second, but not enough for the game. Solid effort by Redhook...Hats off to the Portland D. | Portland: Shea 3, Kroger 2, Anderson 1, Demers 1, Lardy 2, Brendan 1 |
| 4/9 | Seattle 10 - Rainier 6 | Rainier: Another tough fought, well played game. | Rainier: Long 4 |
| 4/9 | Predators 14 - Eugene 6 | Eugene: We were pumped up for the battle of the Oregon Bs, but unfortunatly we continued to not have some of our top players for the big games. The predators on the other hand, had 18 guys or so(and they can all run and play!!!). We jumped out early with two goals, which were quickly answered. We put in another, only to ignite a Predator 3 point run. We came out flat in the third, as always, and The Predators superior numbers and youthfull legs took over. A very clean and sporting game however, and we outnumbered the Predators at the drink up, as half of their team is under 21!!! Predators: This game left the Predators scratching their heads and wondering ""Where's the beef?"" Word around town had it that Eugene acquired some big guns. Consequently, the Predators were braced for a fight. At least this time the Predators had more than 12 players. The game was close through the first 2 quarters, but Eugene's legs began to fade. Without their young snipers, Eugene had trouble keeping pace with the Predators. The Predators out-scored Eugene 7-2 in the second half and finished with a 14-6 victory improving their record to 3-3. | Eugene:
Clemons 2, Sheperd 1, Weiss 1, Kelly 1, Wilton 1 Predators: Heath 4, Bartow 2, Bell 1, Maslin 1, Berrien 1, Richardson 2, Trischett 2, Savage 1 |
| 4/9 | Portland 10 - Blue Collar 2 | Blue Collar: Looking forward to meeting Portland again when we have more than 2 or 3 subs. | Portland:
Brennan 3, Handler 2, Galloway 1, Brostek 1, Lardy 1, Kroger 1, Guy 1 Blue Collar: Greene 1, Haley 1 |
| 4/9 | Huron 12 - Tentawon 10(OT) | Tentawon: Another well-fought battle. Huron lead 6-5 at the half but we pulled ahead 10-7 in the 4th. Late penalities killed us and forced overtime. Huron: One of the most exciting games of the year. For the first time all year we only had two middie lines. The majority of the game was back and forth until the forth quarter. In the 4th Tentawon was able to build a 3 goal lead with 4 minutes remaining. After a goal to cut the lead to 2 goals and a ill-timed two minute penalty for Tentawon Brain Alexander and Mike Showers each scored to tie the game and force overtime. In overtime, Huron held the ball on offense for 7 of the eight minutes. It took about 2 minutes for Lawrence Mackey to put in what turned out to be the game winner over last years league champs. An insurance goal a few minutes later sealed the deal. This gives us the season sweep against 3 teams. See you guys at PNLA. | Tentawon:
Fersch 2, Jensen 2, Brick 2, Woodson 2, Fimmano 1, Loney 1 Huron: Mackey 3, Alexander 4, Swain 1, Koransky 2, Showers 2 |
| 4/9 | Steelhead 11 - Adecco 4 | Steelhead: Playing with only 10 players, Adecco kept it close for a while but simply ran out of steam. Adecco: We had strong numbers today (for us) with our 10th player arriving 5 minutes before game time to hold off the forfeit. We played much stronger and with a lot more heart than on Saturday to keep it close to the 'head for a while. As the game went on, they slowly pulled away as their middies took advantage of our lack of wind and stuck it to us. Nice game by our ""attack"" by playing with the little sticks and actually popping a few cherries past the keeper. Nice ballerina moves Holler. | Steelhead:
Martens 3, Mills 3, Wisman 2, Edwards 1, Lendt 1, Graves 1 Adecco: Chunk 1, Fitch 1, Holler 1, Massager 1 |
| 4/8 | Rainier 11 - Seattle 9(OT) | Rainier: Best game of the year! Very well played game throughout with Rainier proving they are quite different team from year's past. | Rainier: Long 3, Bender 3 |
| 4/8 | Predators 8 - Huron 7 | Huron: Nice day for a game on our new field. Predators showed with their typical 12 players which proved to be enough to notch a win. Predators capitalized on some mistakes with ground balls and man-up situations early in the game. The second half had Huron's defense clamp down on the offense and Macko stepping it up. Huron was able to make it close even with Brent Farnsworth playing out of his head with some amazing saves. We learned our lesson of playing without intensity for a quarter and a half and it resulted in our second loss for the year. Predators are a good team that a few more bodies will make them one of the best in the B's. See you in May. Predators: What a uncharacteristically beautiful sunny day for this time of year. And the sun was shining on the Predators (for once). Probably one of the most exciting games I've been a part of. The Predators managed to get a lead at half despite their notoriously slim travel roster. Huron came on strong in the 4th to bring themselves with one. The Predators (gasping for air) managed to thwart three attempts and hold on to an 8-7 lead. | Huron:
Mackey 2, Snyder 1, Upchurch 1, Swain 3 Predators: Maslin 3, Berrein 2, Bartow 1, Vaneslow 1, Emmons 1, |
| 4/8 | Eugene 19 - Adecco 2 | Eugene: Adecco is still struggling to find bodies, and we really appreciated Wy'East's players for stepping up to round out the Adecco roster and avoid a forfiet. Keep it up Adecco! There is always a way, that is what B league is all about. We tried to work on improving our offensive sets and being more aggressive on D, and apparently it worked. Tim Kelly led the way against his former team with 4, and was followed by just about everyone else as good ball movment led to balanced scoring. Adecco: We got no heart from Adecco and no love from Eugene. We had an off day as St. Petey's School for the Blind could've thumped us today. We couldn't even field a team without our old rivals in Green. Eugene simply ran us down with fast breaks and when it was clear we were dead, they backed up and ran over us again. Ouch. We continue our perfect season by solidifying our hold on the basement title of the B league. | Eugene:
Kelly 4, Graff 1, Strening 3, Dahl 2, Foster 2, Sheperd 2, Weiss 3, Clemons 2 Adecco: Sims 1, Long 1 |
| 4/8 | College Inn 8 - Tentawon 5 | Tentawon: Another hard fought game against The Pub. We kept it close the whole way with the pub leading 3-1 going into halftime. We came on strong in the 4th but it was too little too late. Lee ""Big Gun"" Hubbard and rookie Eric Woodson got their first goals of the season for Tentawon. | Tentawon:
Hubbard 1, Woodson 1, Jensen 2, Fersch 1 College Inn: Mariani 2, Anderson 1, Butler 1, Chao 1, Daniels 1, Johnston 1, Murphy 1 |
| 4/8 | Portland 12 - Blue Collar 5 | Portland:
Higgins 2, Lardy 2, Handler 2, Kroger 1, Guy 2, Brostek 1, Shea 1, Brennan 1 Blue Collar: Martens 4, Bissell 1 |
|
| 4/8 | Steelhead 11 - WyEast 8 | Steelhead: Good weather, nice field, great game. What more needs to be said? | Steelhead: Mills 3, Wisman 3, Lendt 2, Byrd 1, Beckman 1, Brekke 1 |
| 4/2 | Eugene 14 - WyEast 8 | Eugene: We came out shooting, took advantage of Brent Sohoo's goal tending and managed to put in 11 by halftime. The second half saw Larry ""Large"" Anderson in the goal for Wy'East and their midfield took over. It's tough to come back from an 8 point deficit though, and we held on for the win. We have no doubts that it will be tough on May 20 when we travel up north for the Willamette cup. | Eugene: Strening 5, Clemons 5, Sheperd 2, Dahl 1, Cudek 1 |
| 4/2 | Victoria 13 - Rainier 4 | Rainier: 3 words. The day after. | Rainier:
Bender 1, Adams 1, Erics 1, Desormeaux 1 Victoria: Dillon 1, Jenner 2, Tasko 2, T. Dennett 1, Siverston 1, Phair 3, Dhillon 3 |
| 4/2 | Steelhead 14 - Predators 10 | Predators: They grow big up north (body and mouth). Probably one of the more exciting games in a while (to play or watch for that matter). Steelhead used their extra numbers and turned the fourth quarter to their advantage. Steelhead: The predators played an outstanding game. They are a welcome addition to our league. Despite the fact that they had only two subs, they played hard the whole game. The score remained close into the forth quarter until our extra man power payed off and we rallied a few last goals. Good game predators. | Predators:
Heath 6, Bartow 2, Maslin 1, Emmons 1 Steelhead: Mills 4, Byrd 2, Brekke 2, Martens 2, Wisman 2, Massiglia 1, Lendt 1 |
| 4/2 | Huron 12 - Adecco 3 | Huron: Another nice day in Portland. We ended up with twice as many players as Adecco which made the game a bit lop sided. We were able to work on some ball control and get all of our players rotated through. The middies were able to create alot of opportunities for themselves. Macko had another great game in goal for us along with a stong showing by our longpoles which denied an offensive presence by Adecco except for a couple of Man-up goals. Thanks Adecco and see you in Portland at the end of the month. Adecco: Another game with a very short Multnomah bench (1.5 guys) and another loss. We do see the pattern and we're working on getting reinforcements (we've had too many of our players develop severe cases of vegitis and not play). A good effort by the men in black who showed, but we just couldn't keep up with Huron's fresh legs at middie. | Huron:
Pozorski 3, Mackey 2, Woodson 1, McGuire 1, Showers 1, Alexander 1, Koransky 1, Swain 1,
Upchurch 1 Adecco: Long 2, Massager 1 |
| 4/1 | Seattle 11 - Redhook 7 | Redhook: Lost the first half, won the second half...not enough goals overall to win the game. | |
| 4/1 | Victoria 16 - Rainier 14 | Rainier: 1-2 goal game the whole way. | Rainier:
Carlin 3, Monroe 3, Bender 3, Sandgrathe 2, Conway 1, Adams 1, Ernham 1 Victoria: Phair 5, Christiaens 2, Sundher 1, Tasko 2, Siverston 2, Dennett 2, Johnson 2 |
| 4/1 | Huron 11 - Eugene 8 | Huron: Huron traveled light to a field in Eugene that on the surface looked nice. The rainy days earlier in the year left the field quite dangerous. We lost 3 players to injuries due the holes and gremlins in the field. Eugene jumped ahead early which forced us to comeback and get serious about playing. Aaron Swain basically put us on his back and put us in a position to win. We had a few lucky and fluke goals that turned out to be the difference. One good thing from the game was some of the best officiating we have had all year. The new Eugene area ref's have it right on how to ref club ball. Thanks for the drink-up Eugene see you at PNLA. Eugene: Great day and a great game! We jumped out early with two, but Huron saw our bet and raised us 3. We responded to make it 5 up at half. During the half, we bitched about the officials while Huron discussed plays, and it paid off for them, as they scored 4 goals in as many minutes to start the third. We fought back, but couldn't get any closer than 2 the rest of the way, as we are still plagued by inconsistent catching and throwing. Take away the start of the second half, and we would have won, but that doesn't make us feel any better...at least it wasn't raining. | Huron:

| 4/1 | Steelhead 13- College Inn 11 | Steelhead: A changing of the guard? After many, many attempts the Steelhead have finally recorded their first win against College Inn. It was a great game played under great weather at the Queen Anne Bowl. The 'head leapt out to a quick two goal lead but College Inn answered right back with two of their own, and that was the way it was all afternoon. Greg ""hounddog"" Martens finally sealed the win with his fourth goal with only about a minute to play. I'm sure College Inn is happy to be playing us twice this year and will be very motivated come May 21 in Mount Vernon. | College

| 4/1 | Tentawon 9 - Predators 6 | Tentawon: Another beautiful day for the world's best sport and a valiant effort by a very short Predator squad (9+1 retired Tentawon alumnus). The Predators kept it very close but ran out of go-juice in the second half. Brick came up big with a hat trick to include a no-look, backhand "Mulkinator" goal. Predators: The way I heard it.... The Predators were running and gunning, stripping and dishing, holding Tentawon to a 6-6 tie at the end of the third. With only 9 Predators to compete against, I'd expect any descent offense to get hat tricks all the way around. I don't see what there is to brag about. | Tentawon:
Brick 3, Fimmano 2, Jensen 2, Cassidy 1, Fersch 1 Predators: Bell 3, Heath 2, Berrien 1 |
| 3/26 | Redhook 9 - Victoria 15 | Redhook: Redhook almost pulls off a victory against a Victoria squad sporting numerous World League and professional box players. Score was 7-5 at half and was at 10-8 in the fourth quarter until the Canadians got on a run to close the game. Redhook's demise is easily attributable to all but one of our players shaking off brutal hangovers resulting from an extremely enjoyable evening carousing Victorian night clubs. | Redhook:

| 3/26 | College Inn 12 - Adecco 3 | Adecco: It's a sad day when the visiting team's bench has 4 times the number of players than the home team's, even though we had one of the largest benchs of our season with 3 guys (it's been a slim year for Multnomah). Except for the 2nd quarter (when they outscored us 7 - 0), we played them pretty close. Another great effort by our goalie, however we lacked the legs and offensive firepower to get a win. Thanks to College Inn for a good, clean game, but what happend to you guys when it came time to drink beer? | College

| 3/26 | Predators 10 - WyEast 6 | Predators: Wy'East came ready to play. Next thing you knew, Wy'East was up 4-0 at the end of the first. Some Wy'East standouts were Lee Rudick, Casey Cleveland, Mark Dominguez and Jon Stevens (in goal). This game demanded a serious gut check. Farnsworth put up a wall and the rest speaks for itself. The Predators showed great poise by turning this game around and pulling down their first victory. | Predators: Maslin 4, Emmons 3, Voas 2, Dana 1 |
| 3/26 | Tentawon 12 - Eugene 8 | Tentawon: What a beautiful day for a lacrosse game! This game was neck and neck until the 4th when we just had more go-juice than a travel weary Eugene squad. Thanks to Steelhead for softening 'em up on Saturday. Cheese Fimmano came up big with 4 goals while we saw the triumphant return of John Mulkey in goal. Eugene: Despite the fact that we still didn't have our top attack, middie, and d-man, we had good numbers (thanks Wally) and felt we had a chance in this one. We managed to keep the presure on to make it 8-8 with less then 8 to go, but a few major defensive miscues by the usually solid Dave Shinn, some uncharachteristic offside penalties, and an inability to catch and throw consistently did us in. Hats off to a strong showing by the Tentawon midfield. Coded hint to other teams: keep an eye on the big cheese | Tentawon:

| 3/25 | Portland 15 - Seattle 3 | Portland: Score did not reflect the quality of the game. Seattle played very hard but seemed to miss their scoring opportunities. Portland just seemed to make the most their opportunities by putting them on net. Seattle: OUCH! | Portland:

| 3/25 | Redhook 10 - Victoria 8 | Redhook: A huge game for Redhook Lacrosse. Erickson takes the game over in the second half. Brutal defense fends off numerous offensive thrusts by a fiery Victoria effort. Tim Morris is monstrous in the cage. | Redhook:

| 3/25 | Steelhead 17 - Eugene 10 | Eugene: We managed to leave our best attack, middie and D-man at home (again) but still managed decent numbers (for us). While 10 goals are usually enough to win a ball game, we managed to drop and miss throw enough passes to blow many of the extra one and two man opportunities the ""slashing steelies"" gave us. In the second half, our defense broke down as well, and the many youthfull (RELATIVLY) Steelhead legs took advantage. | Steelhead:

| 3/25 | Huron 6 - Tentawon 3 | Huron: Small field did not allow for alot of errors on offense, which resulted in a low scoring game. Huron defense with Macko in goal held Tentawon's offense down. With the exception of two late goals in the last two minutes, the defense of Huron stepped it up for us. The middies did a excellent job of moving the ball up the field which led to quality opportunities. The attack were getting their shots, just some nice saves by Tentawon's goalie and a couple of unlucky bounces kept to game low in terms of goal output. Expect to have another hard fought game when we face them again in May. We needed that win and need to have a decent weekend in Oregon to keep pace with the league leaders. Tentawon: This was a very close game for the majority of the game. We just couldn't get the offense rolling but were able to keep Huron from scoring more. The score was 2-1 at the half but Huron came on strong in the 3rd. We turned up the intensity in the 4th and got a couple of goals but it was too little, too late. Take away the garbage goal from Huron and it was a pretty even game. | Huron:
Koransky 2, Mackey 1, Swain 1, Gregerson 1, Snyder 1 Tentawon: Jensen 1, Fersch 1, Wojcicki 1 |
| 3/19 | Eugene 12 - Adecco 5 | Eugene: It all started in a heavy rain and a quagmire so thick that it threatened to adhere players to the field if they stood still. As for the game, we knew it was a special day when Casey Able (#45, redhead) put in a goal, lefty, to start things off. We were concerened that we had less guys than ADECCO, 13 to their 14, But Tom Foster (he's 54 this year folks!!!) consistently harrased the Adecco clear, giving us many second and third looks, and put one in. Lionel""fright train"" Clemmons busted out of his slump with 3 goals, Dan Shephard had another solid outing with a hat trick, and a late rising, Danny Strenning made up for his tardy with 4 goals. Adecco's offense was aided greatly by the aquisition of three Linnfield spring break ringers, who combined had 4 Adecco goals (Tyler Fitch, hat trick) and the assist to Daryl Long. Hang in there Adecco! Your day will come again. Adecco: Sloppy field, sloppy effort. | Eugene:

| 3/19 | College Inn 8 - Huron 6 | Huron: College Inn is a team that you have to play your best against. Huron came close, but not close enough. College Inn used a relentless ride to limit our touches on the offensive side of the field. Hat's off to our defense who played atleast 60 minutes on their side of the field. We look forward to getting another whack at them after PNLA. | College

| 3/18 | Steelhead 10 - Tentawon 5 | Tentawon: It was a typical cold and windy day in Mt Vernon again, but at least it wasn't raining! This game was neck and neck until the fourth when Steelhead's offense took over. The score was 5-5 going into the 4th then Steelhead got a couple of goals and the momentum swing. This was good game overall and we look forward to playing them again during warmer weather. Steelhead: Another great game between these two teams. Tied 5-5 at the beginning of the fourth quarter the Steelhead went on a quick run and played penalty free to close it out. | Tentawon:
Fimmano 2, Wojcicki 1, Loney 1, Brick 1 Steelhead: Graves 2, Lendt 2, Wisman 1, Mills 1, Green 1, Byrd 1, Beckman 1, Egan 1 |
| 3/12 | Steelhead 10 - Adecco 0 | Steelhead: Adecco only brought 10 bodies to Mount Vernon on Sunday and I think they left their spirit home as well. The Steelhead, numbering close to 30, were able to chase every groundball and took whatever energy Adecco had left. I'm sure we will see a very different team when we travel down there next month. Mike Beckman had a hat trick and Gary Gibb threw the shut out. | Steelhead: Martens 2, Beckman 3, Graves 2, Mills 1, Wisman 1, Byrd 1 |
| 3/12 | Redhook 9 - Rainier 4 | Redhook: Key to the win: Tim Morris! Our goalie played the best game of his Redhook career. Save after save and clear after clear. Game ball goes to tim. This was a solid first game effort by both squads. Rainier has definetly stepped it up for the 2000 season. Redhook felt good about our play, we kept the ball moving, made the smart pass and put the ball in the net. Feels great to have the 2000 season underway. | Redhook:
Jackson 3, Sauri 2, Vannoy 1, Henretig 1, Razwick 1, Vermulen 1 Rainier: JJ 1, Carlin 1, Long 1, Ehrnman 1 |
| 3/12 | Tentawon 6 - WyEast 2 | Tentawon: This game was neck and neck until the 4th quarter when we turned up the energy and took the lead for good. It helped that WyEast traveled light and was softened up by Steelhead yesterday. Matt Fersch put away 2 goals to lead the scoring while rookie Middie Nord Folgedalen scored his first for Tentawon. Our defense played outstanding while Butch Marsh was stellar in goal. WyEast: Deja vu all over again. Wy'East put up a stronger defensive effort than the scoreboard indicates. Hats off to Steve Cook for some heroic fill-in goalkeeping for Wy'East. Hats off to a skilled D line for Tentawon who kept the ball on the ground. Hats off to Wojo for lining the field ten yards too short. Hats off to all the Wy'East middies who stayed home this weekend to watch college basketball, or Eastwood, or whatever it is they watch. | Tentawon:
Fersch 2, Brick 1, Jensen 1, Folgedalen 1, Miller 1 WyEast: Stearns 1, Arnold 1 |
| 3/12 | Huron 11 - Eugene 6 | Huron: Huron was the larger team for the second day in a row. Eugene traveled light and had a few late risers. Eugene played with alot of heart and were only down a goal, 5-4, at half. Huron played a little better in the second half and was able to pull away. We have no illusions that we won't have our hands full in a couple of weeks when we travel down there, revenge will be a factor. Some big hitting in the game on both sides made for physical play. Good game by Eugene considering their numbers and the difficult Saturday game they had. Good stuff guys, 2-0 is a good way to start the season. Eugene: One of our attack were able to make this one, and it showed in his 4 goals and 2 assists. Unfortunatly out hitchiker from the day before had to move on so we still only had twelve vs 25+. Again we take pride in the little things, and that we were within one at half and two of Huron's goals (in our opinion) were flukes, we feel we can play these guys tough at home. | Huron:
Swain 3, Koransky 3, Snyder 2, Mackey 2, Pozorski 1 Eugene: Dahl 4, Shepherd 2 |
| 3/11 | Steelhead 16 - WyEast 9 | Steelhead: The Steelhead got off to a good start this weekend. Wy'east travelled light but played hard and never gave up. The Steelhead moved the ball well in the first quarter to jump out early and never looked back. We didn't play as well in the second half with a lot of people trying to force shots instead of making the next pass. We had hat tricks by Ben Massiglia and Ryan Mills. WyEast: Apparently travelin' light is the only way to fly as far as Wy'East is concerned. Despite only 4 subs (and then two- no, make it 2.5 injuries if a concussion counts), Wy'East managed to still play up to a level worthy of the rivalry that's starting to build up here: an intense game is always a given between our two squads. Again, three or four quick goals in the first quarter put us on our heels, but a strong third quarter by Wy'East made a game of it in the second half. Another strong opponent, another lesson that there won't be any pushovers in B League this year. See you at PNLA, hopefully at the nice field on Sunday. | Steelhead:
Esser 2, Beckman 1, Mills 3, Brekke 1, Wisman 2, Massiglia 3, Egan 1, Green 2, Martens 1 WyEast: Stearns 4, Rudick 2, Yu 1, Cleveland 1, Jensen 1 |
| 3/11 | College Inn 9 - Eugene 0 | Eugene: Our score reflects that we managed to leave all three starting attack and four key middies at home. The hitchiker we picked up hadn't played in years but was a welcome addition as one of two subs. We took pride in the fact that despite College Inn's taking the game seriosly until the very end, and their vastly superior numbers, they couldn't get in double digits on our very tired defense. And to think some of their guys were complaining about playing time! Any players out there who want few more minutes, just let us know. We have plenty of extra jerseys. | College Inn: Mariani 4, Johnston 2, Chao 1, Gacayan 1, Wright 1 |
| 3/11 | Huron 13 - Adecco 0 | Huron: Huron was able to take advantage of a slim Adecco traveling team. After having our lunch money taken from us last week against Red Hook, we were looking to get off to a good start in the B division play. With nine players scoring, we did move the ball around well. Travis Erickson had a stellar game in goal, with Huron's first ever shut out. Travis had lots of help of our long poles who stepped up their game and forced the offense to respond. We see Adecco in a few weeks and plan on bringing our game up a notch to compete with a full squad. | Huron: Mackey 2, Upchurch 2, Pozorski 2, Alexander 1, Bennett 1, Woodward 1, Gregersen 1, Showers 1, Snyder 2 |

| 3/5 | Eugene 3 - Portland 17 | Eugene: What can you say? Too good, too fast, too everything... The field was even worse on Sunday than Saturday. One trip down the field and you had about a pound of mud stuck to your cleats-as if Portland needed any more help. They came out fast and scored often. The only bright spots for Eugene was an even third quarter-I think it was a 2-2 quarter, and the fact our clear was working okay against their ride. At least this doesn't count against the B division record. | Eugene: Foster 1, Sheperd 1, Dahl 1 |
| 3/5 | WyEast 7 - Tentawon 10 | Tentawon: We had more players for our Sunday game and it proved to be critical against a very young and fast WyEast midfield. Cheese Fimmano started the scoring off with 2 quick goals in the first minute of play. He finished the day with a hat trick and helped to spark our offense. Defenseman Driss Bennani gets the vacuum cleaner award as the ball just kept finding it's way into his stick. Backup goalie Butch Marsh was stellar in goal and held off a determined WyEast offense. This was a good team effort as every player played their hearts out and it paid off. WyEast will be giving the B teams a run for the cup this year! WyEast: Well, the more things change, the more they stay the same. Wy'East opened the season with it's usual penalty-killing and transition defense clinic. Tentawon scored two early goals in the first minute that set the tone for the rest of the game. The final three quarters were played dead even. A bright spot for Wy'East was the introduction of youth and team speed at the midfield; finally some support for Rudick? Another bright spot: out of five different goal scorers, Casey Cleveland was the lone veteran. Best of luck to a solid, disciplined Tentawon squad. | Tentawon: Fimmano 3, Miller 2, Loney 1, Brick 1,
Fersch 1, Wojcicki 1, Merten 1 WyEast: Blount 2, Yu 2, Ondica 1, Pulley 1, Cleveland 1 |
| 3/4 | Eugene 10 - Tentawon 5 | Tentawon: Mudbowl 2000. We traveled very light for this mudfest. The rule of the day was to not shoot low for fear of losing the ball. Eugene jumped off to an early lead in the first 3 minutes but we then got our bearings straight and played pretty even the remainder of the game. If we could just have the first 3 minutes back. We'll be sure to return the favor to Eugene when they travel up to Seattle in a couple of weeks! Eugene: After warming up on the field it was a mud bowl and remained that way. The first shot of the game got lodged in the mud-so much for bounce shots... Had the ground been firm it probably would have been 15-10. Eugene's fast start was what proved to be the difference in the game; after a quick few goals Tentawon got their bearings and it turned into a pretty even match. Eugene had good ball movement on offense which created a lot of good looks, and the Eugene clear was effective in getting the ball outside of their defensive end consistently. We look forward to the trip north in a few weeks. | Tentawon: Fersch 1, Loney 1, Miller 1, Trenkamp 1,
Williams 1 Eugene: Strening 5, Bloom 2, Graff 1, Weiss 1, Foster 1 |
| 3/4 | Vancouver 6 - Steelhead 10 | Steelhead: The Steelhead traveled lightly to the Great White North but we brought youth and that made a difference. It was a fairly close game, with the Barbarians pulling within one after two man up goals in the fourth quarter. The Steelhead used smart play and only had three penalties to get a good first win. | Vancouver: Miller 1, Kirstiuk, A. 1, Kirstiuk, M. 1, Smith 2, McInnes, T. 1 Steelhead: Brekke 5, Edwards 1, Mills 2, Byrd 1, Graves 1 |
