RECAPS
Week 4.
3/25 - Coopers traveled down to Portland to defend their 5-0 record and had a battle. Both keepers played out of their minds and kept this a low scoring affair.
In the end, the age and experience of Coopers paid off and they walked out of PDX still undefeated.
On Sunday Eugene traveled up to Renton to play the mighty Huron. Unfortunately they left their goalie at home. (fellas, that’s the one person you want to be sure can make it, especially against a team like Huron) Huron was able to get 13 goals by the Eugene’s back up goalie, or whoever they got drunk and shoved in the cage, and won the game 13-3.
4/1- Coopers made the trip across town to play Tentawon and try to extend their record to 5-0. Coopers pimp slapped Tentawon 16-3.
Coopers was then able to follow up that whoopin’ and beat Bigfoot 7-1 to keep their streak alive at 6 games. Next weeks Huron – Cooper’s game should be a classic and should tell us who the class of the league is.
Saturday also saw Bigfoot traveling up to Everett to Play Crease Monkeys. Despite a valiant effort, Foot was defeated 13 to 8 by the Monkeys.
PLAYOFF PICTURE
Cooper and Huron for sure, the other spots are still up for grabs.
League News:
Here’s the latest on the pick-up-sticks tournament this Summer.
I have nailed down a date and fields for the tournament. As long as John Bates confirms the times. The games will be held at Queen Anne Bowl on July 15 -
16th. Anywhere between 6-8 teams will work. The games would be from 9-5.
16th. Anywhere between 6-8 teams will work. The games would be from 9-5.
I am going to keep the "Pick-Up" format this year. With the exception, of allowing players to put a preferred friend or two on the application sheet. I am
not quite sure of the cost yet, but I would think that with QAB being so inexpensive, it would be about 10 dollars a person.
If anybody has any suggestions, or questions, please feel free to ask. If anybody would like to sponsor, or set up a concession stand let me know. I am going to try to get everyone signed up by June 15th, so I will pass along sign up applications in the coming week or two.
The website is www.pickupstickslacrosse.com,
Ill be updating it soon with the latest info. I will also be looking for night time drinking activities as well. Thanks for any help,
Drew
