Western Washington Travels to Minnesota for Spring Break Trifecta

Bellingham, WA  - The Western Washington University Men’s Lacrosse team  will face some tough out of conference games this coming weekend when the Vikings travel to Minneapolis, MN to take on #5 St. Johns University, Oakland University (MI) and defending national champion and current #1 St. Thomas University.

The Vikings are fresh of their upset of Western Oregon and are riding a three game win streak as they head into Spring break. Coach Avram Feld could not be more excited for these games “it will be great to play some top 5 teams from a different part of the country. Usually these types of games don't happen until the national tournament so to get an idea of how different parts of the MCLA stack up against each other at mid-season benefits everyone involved, including us because we get a crack at the reigning national champions.”
Western departs Friday March 19 and will have plenty of time to rest before their first game on Saturday against St. Johns.

The Viks will hit the field early Sunday morning with game time slated for 8am against Oakland University and the festivities conclude on Monday when St. Thomas and WWU battle for what could be one of the major upsets in the MCLA this year. St. Thomas returns a strong line up including National DII player of the year Joe Costello. “The defense is going to have to buckle down and play strong one on one. We will be facing some real offensive threats this weekend from some Midwest powerhouses.” said senior defenseman and Co-Captain Adam Extine. “I am confident in our whole team to get the job done”.
