Snohomish Dominates Bellevue in Varsity B Final 13-3

Partly sunny skies set the stage for the Division B High School Girls State Championship. Both teams coming off of huge playoff victories look to get the final victory to close out the season. From Start to finish, Snohomish came to play.  They started with the second goal, and never looked back, beating Bellevue 13-3.

Despite the heat, the Bellevue Wolverines came out firing, getting on the board first as Merielle Moffatt was able to split through three of Snohomish’s Panthers getting a shot off five yards in front of the crease. Following loud pre-game chants the Snohomish fans were silenced, however, they were brought back to life as Trott found the back of the net for her first of three. Despite Bellevue’s early effort Snohomish dominated the first part of the half having five different TPanthers score. Overall the draw play was in favor of Snohomish, however a solid effort by Bellevue sparked transition that unfortunately did not translate into goals. In terms of transition, Bellevue’s Conley Nemyre raised the intensity level by ten fold, initiating Adrien Greenberg’s goal from top left. The end of the first half demonstrated why the Panthers ended regular season play, perfect. Snohomish led 7-2.

The start of the second half saw the continuation of Snohomish’s domination; Sayre Creighton would score at least one this half, capitalizing on Bellevue’s turnovers and defensive mistakes. However the Wolverine offense seemed to be carried by their speedster, Nemyre. Unfortunately, Bellevue was unable to retain possession of the ball as dropped passes, and overthrown balls disabled the Wolverines campaign. As a result Snohomish was able to take advantage of what seemed like every Wolverine mistake. Trott, who put in one during the first half was able to finish a nice transition, getting the ball five yards past the midfield, shaking through two defenders and making the score 11-2 in favor of Snohomish. Despite their struggling offense the Wolverine defense played strong throughout the second only allowing three goals to be scored. However despite Bellevue’s final effort, Snohomish would take home the championship at a toll of 13-3, thus continuing their domination of Division B.
