Showdown at the Skyline Corral

Everyone is wondering who is the fourth team in Division I after the BI, MI, Issy contingent.  Tonight we have the first installment of who will walk away with the title.

Omri scores in the first four minutes to start the game off.  Bellevue runs most of the possession in the first, and in transition Blake Samuel takes a feed and sends it home for number two.  After 8 minutes of play, Bellevue leads by two with under two minutes, Brennen West steps in, drives the cage, and scores to answer Bellevue's pair of goals.  Calvin Wiley piles on, and erases the deficit to end the quarter tied at 2 goals. On a final shot and save, we are poised for an explosive second quarter.

In his first full varsity start, Veitas starts the third quarter off stoning three shots from rebounds in a row from Skyline, and
Cole Nordstrom rips a righty shot on the run that sanps the net and Bellevue answers with a second goal. Spencer Matches wins the face-off and swims to get his hand free and rips a bouncer on the run past Veitas. Now, Bellevue comes back driving from behind and Mutzel finds Brennen for number 5.  Another fight for a ground ball finds Zervas saving a possession through 5 Skyline players down the alley for a shot, saved by Seil but the rebound finds it in Omri's stick as he scores his third of the night, and Bellevue's 6th goal.  Bellevue goes man-up and pours it on as Nordstrom steps up and fires a rocket past Seil for number 7.  On the next possession, Skyline turns the ball over thoiugh they have been dominating face-offs.  Mutzel shoots inside and adds another goal, Bellevue erupting at the end of the second quarter to an 8-3 lead.  Bellevue goes into the half ourscoring Skyline 6-1.

The third quarter would be more of the same, from both teams.  Bellevue continues their air attack with most of the possession time, strong defense and their offense in sync.  Deal feeds Mutzel for two identical goals and a Nordstrom connection to Zervas to end the quarter in clear control, 11-3.

The fourth quarter shifts the game momentum to Skyline.  Wiley burns one in after rollling the cage, Thomas makes a dive at the crease for an ally-oop goal from Wiley, and with four minutes, Thomas takes another feed from Kramer and signs of life from Skyline may be too little too late.  After a time out, Wiley keeps adding to the comeback, beating two guys, and dodging across the crease for a solo score while man-down.  Skyline trails 11-7.  Skyline continues chipping away at the lead, as Pruitt picks up a ground ball, scoring a one-on-one goal and reducing the Bellevue lead to 3.  Bellevue lasts it out winning by 3.
