Walax has a cadre of coaches who are able and willing to help players in all ranged of capability. From absolutely no experience and never touching a stick, to tuning advanced star players, Walax coaches have expertise in specialty areas, as well as general Lacrosse skills. After an assessment, Walax coaches will set up a structure for lessons beit one-on-one instruction, or group instruction with a goal-oriented program showing progression and improvement over the course of lessons with Walax. Walax Coaches Bios
Jamison Koesterer - was a 2x All League Section 3 Class B CNYLL selection at Cazenovia Central in New York. He was also a member of the 2002 New York State Central Lacrosse team which earned a Bronze Medal at the Empire State Games in Cortland N.Y. He has Won 2 NCAA Division 1 National Championships in ‘05 and in ‘07 while playing for Johns Hopkins University in Baltimore, MD. Currently, he is the Director of Operations at Walax.com, and is playing professionally for the NLL Washington Stealth after playing for the Lumberjax last season. In 2010, he leads the NLL in face-off wins as a Washington Stealth player. His face-off capability is unmatched.
Chris O'Dougherty - Chris O’Dougherty joins our coaching staff after moving to the Seattle area from Kinnelon, New Jersey. O’Dougherty began his lacrosse career at Seton Hall prep where he served as team captain for two seasons. During his senior season in 2005 he was a first team all-state selection, All-American selection and also was voted team MVP. O’Dougherty continued his career at Rutgers University where he was a four-year starter and three-year captain selection. During his sophomore season in 2007 O’Dougherty was a All-ECAC selection, a honorable mention All-American and was awarded the Robert Collett Trophy that is awarded to the player who displays the best mental and physical spirit. The 2008 and 2009 campeigns, Chris was again selected as a All-ECAC member and was also named the teams MVP for back to back seasons. After his senior season, O’Dougherty participated in North/South senior all-star game, and was selected by the Denver Outlaws in MLL collegiate Draft. He started one game his rookie season in Denver. This past fall the Washington Stealth drafted O’Dougherty. Chris has coached for Tri-State boys lacrosse club since 2005 and Kinnelon high school.
Chris Sherman - Sherman was born and raised in Baltimore area, where he became a goalie in High School. He played 4 years of High School Lacrosse, three as the varsity keeper. During his High School tenure, he led his team in playoff births to semi-finals of the State Championship. After High School, Sherman attended Limeston college for two seasons, earning a national championship in 2000. in 2003, he played at St. Andrews and in his senior season, earned honorable mention All-American honors. Chris also enjoys coaching, having coached 9-12 grde players, k-2 players, and 7/8 select teams. After moving to Washington, Sherman has coaches for Seattle Starz and Directs the North Sound Starz as well as his High School program, Snohomish.
Drew Snider - Drew is a current college player at the University of Maryland. He is a midifleder who was only the second ever to attain High School All-American Honors twice in Washington. A four year Varsity starter, Drew was three-time all state first team, a team captain, and the 2006 Walax Washington Player of the Year. He attended the National High School Senior Showcase, and was honored as First Team All-Founders League. Drew is a Walax.com staff coach, a Starz coach and has coached at numerous camps nationwide.
