Northshore Battles Stadium

Something you rarely see, two high-scoring teams locked at 0-0 after the first quarter, squinting in the sun at Mason Middle School, as Northshore battles Stadium for a chance in the semifinals.

Taylor Wisman got on the board first for Northshore which started a 3-1 Northshore lead by halftime. Moving into the second half, Foster Wisman finishes a solo shot to make it 5-3, after dodging inside. Stadium wins the face-off and possesses for an offensive series and gets an EMO opportunity, but can't convert.

Northshore's next possession garners them a man-up, as Barclay hits Taylor Wisman wrapping the crease for a goal in the far side of the net for his third of the night with just 53 seconds in the third quarter.

Starting the fourth quarter, Northshore would get another opportunity as Field hits Hadley cutting across the crease for a high bouncer making the score 7-5. Stadium would answer with a great shot saved initially, but trickles in behind Dransfield who loses sight of the ball.    They continue to force mistakes in the Northshore clear, and trade possessions pushing both ways but the next possession finds Dossett behind the cage with the ball and he beats the slide for number 8. Northshore leads by three with six minutes left. Chaffey finishes his third of the night by himself which is actually the fourth unassisted Stadium goal, narrowing the lead to two. After mutually finishing man-down, Barclay shoots and scores to set the game out of reach for Stadium with under two minutes to play.

Taylor Wisman carried the night with 4 goals followed by Dossett's 2g2a game, Hadley, Barclay and Foster Wisman dropped in a single each, scoring 6 of 9 goals assisted.

Stadium's effort was led by a three goal game by Chaffey, a pair by Shapton and a single by Reuter.

Coach Steve Wisman had this to say "I feel our defense carried the day- Stadium beat us on ground balls and fought us on clears. Stadium is a team that really hustles".

Northshore will actually have the toughest road to the championships, especially given they were a semi-finalist last year.  Northshore had to defeat Hale in the first round, followed by a tough game against Stadium, culminating in a game against Overlake to play in the state championship next weekend.
