2012 Team Washington roster announced

Team Washington Lacrosse is a non-profit organization developed to showcase the top 22 high school players in the state, every year, on a national level. At the conclusion of every boy’s high school season, the head coaches of every high school team nominate their best players to the WHSBLA for all-state recognition. The coaching staff of Team Washington uses this information, and their own regular-season evaluations to pick the top 22 players to reperesent the state. All freshman, sophomores and juniors are eligible.

The Team Washington coaching staff will be comprised of the two head coaches from the WHSBLA Division I state champion and runner-up teams from the previous year, as well as the head coaches from the two semi-finalist teams. This years coaching staff will be comprised of the head coaches from Bellevue HS, Issaquah HS, Lake Washington HS (former Bainbridge coach) & Mercer Island HS (Coach Baumann, Coach Fortier, Coach Hush & Coach O'Hearn). Every state championship for the past 12 years has had one or more of these coaches participating. With the combination of the best players, programs and coaches, we are anticipating a very successful trip in July.

Once the final roster of 22 players is selected by the Team Washington coaching staff, the team will practice together for 6 weeks during June and July.  The 6 weeks together will culminate with a trip to the east coast to participate in two national high school recruiting tournaments (i.e. The Brine Shootout & Champ Camp). Prior to the tournaments, Team Washington will also play several Northwest all-star teams (i.e. WA College Alumni, Team Oregon, Team B.C., etc.). 

The mission of Team Washington is to raise national awareness of the ability level of high school lacrosse in the state of Washington. By raising national awareness we hope to open doors for future Washington high school players that wish to play college lacrosse around the country.
