2012 9/11 Heroes Run – Seattle
The 9/11 Heroes Run (“Run”) is an annual event held in nearly 30 cities around the country and overseas. Always held around 9/11, the Run is administered by the Travis Manion Foundation (“TMF”) to honor our Police, Fire, EMS and military personnel who selflessly give so that we may enjoy safety and freedom. The Run is also a fundraiser benefitting the TMF and a non-profit chosen by the Race Director for each run location. Fifty percent of the proceeds of the Run go directly to the local non-profit. The remaining 50% go toward Run expenses and to support the other TMF programs that assist our nation’s veterans and the families of Fallen Heroes.
More information about the Travis Manion Foundation and their programs can be found on their website at www.travismanion.com.
The local benefiting non-profit for the 9/11 Heroes Run - Seattle is the Mercer Island Washington based Team Jesse Foundation. Co-founded by US Army Veteran, Mercer Island resident and MI Varsity Lacrosse Assistant Coach, Kevin Mincio, the Team Jesse Foundation’s mission is to provide education and support for the families of fallen soldiers in honor of Staff Sergeant Jesse Williams, himself a fallen soldier.
